It seems Barnier is going to cancel a visit to London to continue talks later this week as he is getting frustrated by Frosty's refusal to move closer to EU demands.

Which part of 'no longer rule takers' do these arrogant fuckers not understand?

I see that now he has been elected that nice Mr Biden, much to EU consternation, has reined back from 'no US/UK trade deal' to 'please nobody put armed troops on the border'.

As he was always going to do.

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
There is no issue with the NI border and thee never was. Technology in existence on referendum day offes a seamless cross-border solution.

It may well catch a few smugglers depriving the EU of much needed tax revenue.

What's not to like?

E. Nutter

Agree. I don't think the fishing thing is going to stand in the way of the UK being allowed some kind of preferential access to the single market simply because of the NI border and the size and proximity of its market

Re: EU Referendum 23rd June 2016 declares Cameron
Mr Pickle. The issue is not the CFP. The CPF is just a framework of rules and governance for European Fishing Fleets, in EU managed waters. The UK Gov has made it quite clear that they are happy to work with the same rules as defined in the CFP, along with the other international organisations such as the NEAFC.

However as has also been made clear to the EU on countless occasions as we have left the EU, the UK has reclaimed it's sovereign control over it's territorial waters and will therefor manage the rules defined in our version the CFP which will include licensing, FQA and vessel management.

The commission know this and has no control over it. A trade deal will be completed in some shape or form before the years end and we will still continue to monitor and report data such as catch reporting, vessel movements, recordings and registrations as part of our international obligations.

What you are seeing in the press is just hyperbolic bluster. In the background the grown ups are hard at work making sure your herrings can still be landed, pickled and packed.
