getting very fed up with diving in the game. Payet this time. Brilliant player but very lucky not to be sent off for that attempt at cheating. Keep doing the good things Dimitri but please cut that out...

Kane was already on his way down in the video I posted. I don't know anyone who doesn't think that wasn't a freekick.

did the same thing wth the penalty at their place last year, was already on his way sdown when Song hit him

You know how it is one mac, when its your team you can sway one way when its against it can be the other

Re: Diving
I can't believe anyone is arguing about the free kick. He had hold of Payet's arm. That's not allowed. If the player feels they need to go to ground to get the ref's attention to that, then that is the ref's problem not the player's.

"If that was up the other end would you say Man United should of had a penalty ? "

I don't get these sort of questions. If someone thinks it's a foul, surely it would be a foul no matter who it was?

Re: Diving
and if I was a manager, I'd be doing likewise to my defender for giving him the opportunity to do so ;-)

Re: Diving
Fair enough, id give the attacker a earful for throwing himself on the deck well before i touched him

Re: Diving
I wouldn't have had any complaints.

If a defending player commits to a tackle like that, doesn't play the ball and makes contact with the man, then he can fully expect to be penalised for it.

Rossal 2:10 Tue Mar 15
Re: Diving
Agreed was a clear foul.

Payet's wasnt for me. If that was up the other end would you say Man United should of had a penalty ?

Ha - fair enough. I think this discussion has pretty much reached it's conclusion. Just seemed like a fairly lazy way of shutting down the argument.

No worries.

Graham Poll thought the Reid handball should have been a penalty. Do you think you know better than him?

give up mate, rossal obviously knows better than howard webb.

Re: Diving
Watch the clip again a few times.

He was NOT already on the way down, there were two points of contact on Payet, the fall was natural.

Rossal 11:55 Tue Mar 15
Re: Diving
Doesn't matter if he was 'already on his way down'.

Well it does, as if he was throwing himself to the floor before contact then its a clear dive.

Chigwell 11:51 Tue Mar 15
Re: Diving
If Howard Webb would have given Payet a penalty simply because there was contact, it just shows how ridiculous referees these days can be.
They just ignore all the shoving and holding that goes on in the penalty box before and during corners etc., yet reward a player who feels a slight brush with an opponent and throws himself down as if shot.

Old 3 (THREE) yellow cards, Graham Poll?

Mace66 11:37 Tue Mar 15
Re: Diving
Howard Webb reviewed all the key moments after the game with the help of vidoe replays

1) Payet pen appeal - definite contact = PEN

2) Payet Free kick - was being pulled back + slight contact = FREE KICK

3) Their pen appeal (Reid) - ball ricocheted from leg to arm = NO PEN

4) Their goal - foul by the kraut on Randolph = NO GOAL, free kick to WHUFC

Doesn't matter if he was 'already on his way down'. He didn't fling a leg out to induce contact, he simply got their before Rojo and was clipped.

Kane was already on his way down here, he even drags his feet to ensure contact is made. That doesn't mean the decision to award a free kick and send Conquellin off wasn't correct.

Re: Diving
When we first watched it we was all screaming at the TV for a pen.... then we all saw the replay and thought whoops he has had a dive up... then watched it again a few times since... and to be fair I ain't got a clue?? For me he is already on his way down when he is deffo touched... I am just thankful that the ref never issued another yellow which I think a few could have done... end of the day we got them back at our place
