West Ham joint chairman says club are planning to offer Bilic new contract
• Sullivan says talks will not open until January 2017 at the earliest
West Ham are planning to reward manager Slaven Bilic with a new contract - but want to make sure he is not a “one-season wonder” first.
West Ham joint chairman David Sullivan told the Mirror: “I will give Slaven a new deal in January.
“I just want to see that he is not a one-season wonder. I’m sure he is not, but we will talk next January - or at the end of next season.
“I have to tell you that he is interested in the project, not money. He stayed at Croatia on £2,000 a week for five years when he would have had bundles of offers. He is not really into money. He is more interested in getting the best players for the club than the best money for himself.”
Bilic has enjoyed an impressive first campaign in charge after taking over at Upton Park last June, guiding the Hammers to fifth place in the Premier League with eight games to go and through to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup. West Ham host Manchester United in a replay on 13th April for a place in a Wembley semi-final against Everton.
The former Croatia boss, 47, signed a three-year contract when he joined the Hammers in June 2015, having left Turkish club Besiktas at the end of the previous season.

Sullivan was just on talksport. said Slaven was happy to wait for his new contract. also said he had a list of transfer targets for next year, some currently at premier league clubs (lukaku) but couldn't mention names as would be tapping up. also said he'd love zlatan at the club

Yeah I really think Man City, Liverpool & Arsenal are looking at Bilic.
Why can't people simply accept it for what it is? Sullivan wants to promote his film, in exchange for it being promoted he answers a few questions on West Ham.
He's not destabilised the manager, he's said nothing Bilic doesn't know himself and it doesn't matter if Billic has a 3 year deal or a 10 year deal, if he out he would just walk like other managers do.

There is nothing to indicate that anything like that has happened.
Sullivan has form for saying silly things. He has done it again, whether or not any discussion has taken place before hand.
I would rather he didn't, but he overall has done a good job, so I try not to let it upset me.

Defo some subliminal here - something is on Sulli's mind and he has babbled half a story...
Either:
a) Slav has asked, and been deferred, or
b) Sulli realises Slav's cred is rising, has tried to negotiate a stronger retention position, and Slav has waved it away, keeping his options open
History could easily repeat itself here if we are not careful. The most important thing to remember is WHU needs Slav MUCH more than Slav needs WHU...
He is a motivator, he has a very determined crew behind him, he is diplomatic and makes friends rather than enemies, he has the persona to impress and attract players... don't be surprised if he is tapped up by one of the 'top' clubs... every single one of them could do better in his hands at the moment...
Don't shoot the messenger. I hope it never happens, byt if I was on the board at Man Utd / City / Pool, and especially Arsenal right now, I'd have a covetous eye on him. Two birds with one stone, too...
