1977 some of you older chaps will remember this documentary.

Travelling across town was dangerous on a Saturday, even worse for a midweek game if they jumped on your tube carriage late on
What was your worst experience?

Sometime around 1968 me and a mate decided to go over the Den one Saturday afternoon to watch them play Norwich.
We were standing on the Ilderton Rd End minding our own business when this little group of scruffy kids came along the terrace, picked us out and started asking a lot of questions. They had clearly decided we were not Millwall.
At half time my mate went to the bog and was confronted by these 11- 12 year olds, one of which laid the nut on him and broke his nose. Years later I realised that these kids, dressed in short trousers, braces and hobnail boots were what was to become the so called F-Troop and a little Harry the Dog was there too.
Millwall had a fearsome mob in those days lead by a bloke who went by the name of Bomber. But there were many others. These kids were just apprentices and part of the production line. .

Remember all that bollox about the Millwall brick?
Some kind of origami effort to convert The Daily Mirror into an offensive weapon as opposed to an offense to newspapers

Loved that documentary.
Them travelling to Bristol Rovers at the old Eastville stadium brings back memories as I travel to Bristol occasionally for work and often pass IKEA where Eastville once stood. Seems weird to think there was once a football stadium there.
Also seems strange that Tottenham are often referred to as their main rivals that year although funny they were in the 2nd division.

Thanks for posting that link. Enjoyed the trip down memory lane.
Used to drink in a couple of pubs south of the water, one of which was Harry the Dogs local, cant remember the name of the pub now but it was a music pub - and although they played great stuff in there, it was like a time bomb, just waiting for the smallest thing for it to kick off.
Thought the fella on the coach going to Bristol was a bit of a card - talking about the northerners disrespecting him - Love the oh so BBC commentary and I bet they were frightened to tell them that Bristol is not really the north!

Glos.... good that
This reminds me of Boaty and Cromwell
Fans don’t know who they are any more. We came from manor’s that had communities, born an’ bred. Now its’s all abaht the moo-lah. Premier league, moolah an’ politics. All the corporate bullshit has killed the game. Foreign players, foreign money an’ fuckin’ telly. You can’t fuckin’ swear, you can’t stand up, you can’t have a go wiv a propah sing song, not like the good ol’ days. Abusive? Wot’s that all about. I mean, it’s a sad day wen you get families goin to football. Families? I ask ya! All the youngsters dressed up in coloured ‘ats carryin’ balloons an’ eatin’ ice cream. Where are they gonnah learn to ruck? When do they evvah get to ‘ave a row?!
