I didn’t realise how old he was until this got bumped.
Got to hand it to him, not only finishing the way he does but still running around at full pace as he nears his mid-30s.
Rush Green would have broken him though. We all know it.

This rumour never made any sense at the time. Not only did he already have Champions League with Leicester, he also turned down Arsenal that summer. Why the fuck would he have come to us?

Zero chance of this happening but it's not such a bad move. We have a history of buying foreigners that we end up shifting on at great loss.
At least Vardy would be someone with a top level record of getting goals.
It's not as though Haller has some massive resale value after we've broken him is it.

It was the Caravan park beside the ground comment that made me chuckle.
Looking back, wished we had got Kenny Dalglish when he came down for a trial but turned us down as he wanted to stay in Glasgow.

Watching Leeds v Leicester on Monday night and I for some reason remembered this thread from back in the 2016/17 season about the then rumours of us buying Vardy for £20 million or so.
He was 30 years old and the overwhelming consensus among us Whoers and was too old and of course was a pikey.
Of course, as we all know, Hindsight is the foresight of a gobshite, but still. Imagine we'd signed him back then. We'd now have a bucket full of a goals, and a caravan park beside the ground.

Not sure about Vardy, he's had an unreal season but I have a feeling that will be his best ever.
I'm probably wrong but I got a feeling he might believe his own hype and go all a bit James Beattie.
As much as it's annoying to admit it cos he's Spurs but Harry Kane is a real player, I think his best is still yet to come. Pretty much the same amount of goals this season but completely different prospects to my eyes.

Funny how fans react to these stories. I'd take a 20 goal striker. It everything is a gamble but we need a few goals to get into the top 4. Admittedly a bit better defence against shit teams would help.
