Why do people hate situations like this so much?

Everything has to start somewhere, so they've major help, does that mean that this sort of thing should never be able to happen? Why? Does everything have to stay the same?

Good luck to them, hope they win the league, it'd be a great story.

What sort of following do they attract given they have come up through the leagues?

They got dogs every where, think MC Don's but notch up the hatred. A lots got to do with going against the model of the German league structure where fans get a say in the running of the club.

RB Leipzig probably the most hated club in Germany.

They were lingering around in amateur football when Red Bull decided to buy them. The team couldn't be named after the brand under German rules so they named the club RassenBall. The 50+1 members system that prevents someone having total control of the club was abused by the RB board. They decided to charge a seasons membership at something like £2k per season, so it was only Red Bull executives that became members.

Certainly a dramatic rise, 4 promotions in 6 seasons or whatever it is, but definately a case or the Chelsea's/Man City's about it, and not the romantic meteoric rise of a impoverished club that its made out to be.

"RB Leipzig were only founded in 2009 and, with the backing of Red Bull"

What is the similarity to Leicester?

Last time I was in Germany watching football (St Pauli) I was talking to a few fans and they all hate RB Leipzig.

Make of that what you will.

When we say 'sponsored by Red Bull' what sort of funding is it?
I understood some people in Germany see them more as a Chelsea/Man City than a plucky Leicester.

I was reading up on them last night. Purpose built stadium too - the lease they have on it runs until 2020, apparently so they could keep their options open in the event it didn't work out as planned.
