Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11685/10684129/slaven-bilic-faces-crunch-talks-with-west-ham-board.

This man deserves an opportunity to turn things around. Been around this club for half a century and have seen knee jerk appointments in the past. What we need is stability to tweek the existing squad rather than a replacement who will look to overhaul with a timing excuse of "give me time". And who will that be anyway ? I can't see any stand out candidates.

Unfortunately the over hyped, impatient, i want, I want, materialistic, social media addicts, Gen Y and on wards have a completely distorted view of real life. Mostly as a result of being failed by an education system that focused on your self esteem and recognising minorities, rather than your ability to get up, dust yourself off, and get on with it, and add some value to your community and not blame everyone but yourself. Don't expect you Gen Y's to admit that, because you know no different

Success, more often than not comes from multiple failures and ones ability to get over it, Alex Ferguson included

This man needs a chance to exercise just that.

We'd all love Howe - but there's no fucking way he's leaving a cushy job to clean up this mess. Mancini will equally take a side step from the wreckage.

I'd take back Harry, Curbs but we'll probably end up with fucking Hodgson.

Wouldn't mind Howe.

Not a chance in hell, that they'd go for Redknapp. If: and it's a big if, they go for a new manager, it will be someone like the Bournemouth guy, Howe.

This geezer is cat food walking and we may as well ditch him now. Whoever we bring in will get the customary honeymoon period of players actually trying and we'll pick up points rather than the guaranteed fuck all we're looking at now. What a colossal mess.

Alf - I reckon they would go for Redknapp.

humps - The fact that you said that just firms up what I wrote. Like I said before you're just a troll who hardly use to post before now. We know what your solution is, it's to sell Payet, sack Bilic and appoint blue bottle. Nuff said! You're an idiot with an even more idiotic user name. Nobody cares what you think so you may as well fuck off.

Burnley and the Hull/Swansea games will be very tough. Different proposition at the OS with them sitting back and making it difficult for a team without a recognised forward. Those are the ones we need the China Doll for. Swansea away will be tough as they will see that as a winnable fixture too.

Like everyone says, lose or only draw these 3 and he will be thrown out the last chance saloon. That said, who will come in? :-)

You're a bit naive, really. You should listen to Shim.

If I was in the media I would have been chasing Mark Noble for an interview this week to discuss the managers comments.

Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
Yes, if it appears that the players have stopped playing for him then that does change the landscape for sure, although what about our magnificent skipper, surely he will be rallying the troops?

That aside, if we stay out the bottom 3 or even in teh bottom 3 but in touch with 17th spot I don't see much point in sacking him before we have even reached the half way point...he has a track record with these players, so you could argue that bringing in someone else would be a bigger gamble than firing Bilic.

Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
Part of me thinks he should have left at the end of last season. Since the day he arrived he talked up the Boleyn Ground and didn't talk with any great enthusiasm about the cesspit. Even said repeatedly that we'd be in for a tough year and his emotion at the last game was genuine.

But then I'm not sure who you can get in with any experience of managing football clubs in an athletics stadium. Mark MCGHEE did at Brighton I think, so maybe him.

Sven Roeder 9:22 Thu Dec 8
Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
Given what he has said about player effort I'd say if we have a repeat of the Arsenal performance at Anfield with a disinterested half hearted hammering his position would surely be untenable.
Then it comes to Burnley and Hull which must be won
He is skating on thin ice at the moment and needs a reaction from his players.

Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
Ants - Well I don't think he is 1, or even 2, games away from picking up his cards. Will be different though if we don't get at least 5 or 6 points from Burnley, Hull and Swansea.

Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
If we approach the Burnley, Hull and Swansea games with the same attitude and level of commitment we have shown in the past few matches we will get fuck all out of those games as well.
Is this not the very thing the fat man was castigated for picking the winnable games.

Whatever.. I'm quite allowed to express my thoughts on an open forum as you are.. I hope it all works out for him & us..
Just my opinion that I can see it happening.

He ISN'T under intense pressure??

If you really can't understand why he isn't yet under intense pressure and is given a bit of time, then that says a lot more about you than anything else..

Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
Left us as a a brief stint player for Everton at the earliest opportunity.

We were seriously shit at points last season too, Swansea 4-1 anyone ?.. as I said some good moments though as well...

A likeable bloke, yeah, that's what we need isn't it, looks like the players are responding well to it too...

If the performances on the pitch were decent, we would all be a lot more tolerant & patient with the new stadium transition period, he takes responsibility for performances on the pitch.

Private Dancer 7:46 Thu Dec 8
Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
I'd say he gets support primarily for 4 reasons..

1) He's a popular ex-player.
2) He's still got credit in the bank from last season
3) He's a likeable bloke who doesn't talk shit and he understands the club and the fans.
4) He is overseeing a strange, diffulcult season with the mess and transition that the stadium move has caused.

What bits don't you understand?

Re: Slaven Bilic faces crunch talks with West Ham board
I don't understand where the support for Bilic comes from, he's overseeing a car crash of (at least a significant part) his own making, sure he seems a nice bloke & comes across welll in an interview but that's not enough, is it ?
He has undoubtedly brought us some decent moments but the overall results & performances haven't been good enough, the list of faults that can be laid at his door is long & getting longer, fall outs with players, tactically naive and stubborn, persisting with Antonio at RB, bringing in Zara and Tore, the whole summer transfer business was crap but these two in particular lie at the foot of the manager, swanning around all summer playing the fool on TV rather than concentrating on his very well paid day job and preparing us for arguably the most important season in the clubs history, cheaply losing Europe for the second season running to the same Romanian postmen, throwing away the game at white hart lane when winning with 2 minutes left, Carrol & Randolph on the piss in Shoreditch all night, hanging Adrian out to dry in public, letting Tomkins go, his admission that the players aren't making the required effort even in training, the list is fucking endless isn't it ?!...
Why the hell should he get anymore time to make things worse..
