I'd prefer him to Ivanovic to be fair!

Eighteen million would be better spent on another Sunderland player.

Smacks a bit of desperation to me, as is this bloke even that good?

He certainly isn't 7 million notes better than Tomkins.

Re: Sunderland blow as West Ham plan to trigger Lamine Kone's £18m release clause
Because of the unbalanced and poor signing we probably need a new CB too because we didnt replace Tomkins, unless Oxford is going to be trusted.
OUT:

zaza - cancel loan

callieri - cancel loan

tore - cancel loan

Fletcher - loan to a Championship side - might be useful experience for next season :)

Arbeloa - loan out to anyone

IN:

2 strikers - not wingers, actual fucking goal scorers.

One who knows the english game well, even if from the championship, will be expensive.

The other can be one of Sullivan's foreign chancers on loan with option to blah blah.

1 RB - ESSENTIAL, fork out on this one. No more corner cutting.

1 CB - not necessarily Kone, but someone who can step in now, who is at least as useful as Collins but with a future.

4 in should do it. 2 wont be cheap. We'll see what these cunts end up doing.

Half again as good as young Tompka?

He is no better than Reid and Ogbonna. A right back and striker is our priority with Zaza, Calleri and Tore fucking off aswell with a bit of luck.

Fuck sake. Surely we can find better for 18 mill? Must be some young English talent in the Championship we could look to bring in?

We had stronger cover last season for right back and cb than this. A fuck up all round

'We sold a decent home grown CB because he wanted to be given a guarantee he would be in the starting line up...which no manager worth his salt would agree to! '

Yeah, then we play 3 at the back or fucking nordfetch at right back, so Tomkins would probably have played more this season than the last 2!

just what we need, no nonsense centre half and a leader.
Koeman tried to sign him and i trust his judgement.

I can see them getting Sturridge.

I see the Southampton manager has said he hasn't ruled out buying a striker to cover for Charlie Austin being out.
Just need to see who they pick and then move in!

Re: Sunderland blow as West Ham plan to trigger Lamine Kone's £18m release clause
So we sell a decent home grown CB because we don't need him while we have 2 young england CBs who aren't good enough yet.

So now we want to spank 18m on another CB?

Anyone else think our recruitment policy is a bit weird to say the least?

Maybe the plan's to disrupt their team and tell him to go and sun himself on a beach somewhere...
