Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 0-5
I have come to the obvious conclusion half way through the season, out of every competition, struggling to stay in the league, and looking at the owners financial investment model (pay day interest on loans to the club paid back via TV and ticket revenues and not one penny of their own wealth spent), that we have been sold an empty dream.

There are a 5 or 6 quality players but to get a squad of 24 where we have quality on the bench, will never happen under S & G.

We will continue the cycle of the last 60 years I have been watching. Flickering promise of progression every 10 years only to return to our normal position as a club that bobs between mid table and relegation when its our turn every 5 - 10 years.

I will keep supporting the club as its in my blood and will keep giving S & G 2 grand a year to pay their loans back but have now settled on the fact that nothing will change without them selling to a person(s) or organisation that can invest much more. Our owners are limiting their investment as is their right to ensure they do not commit a penny of their own money.

Still gutted about Friday, season over as far as I'm concerned and one that promised so much before a ball was kicked. Owners massively at fault for awful signings in the summer. Yes been here many tumes before, another false dawn, should be used to it by now.

Hermit Road. Good point about WHO. I haven't really posted on here for years but I'm really enjoying the debate because it feels like it really matters again and also because there are so many names like yours who I recognise from back in the day. It seems that adversity is causing a lot of us to reactivate our accounts! Not sure who's running the show these days but it's much appreciated.

In only a few weeks time, we do this all over again.

I reckon we'll get our revenge, humiliating them by restricting them to a 3-0 victory...

The best thing for the remaining season is to get to 35-40 points and to then start playing a few of these highly rated youngsters, they can't do any worse.

faubert had another poor game. his miss from 2 yards pretty much sums him up and his crosses are still shit. can't believe real madrid came in for him, it's a shame we had to take him back.

get rid

When did we get that cunt Faubert back?

Gutted about last night because Fernandes, Obiang and Lanzini is a midfield three that I really want to do well.

Im a real fan of big Andy but think that we look really poor when he is up top on his own. The lone forward isn't a static hold up player any more. They are Defoe, Sakho nippy type that disrupt the oppositions defensive shape and create space for the likes of Payet and Lanzini. I think that because Carroll does so much positive work defensively we can put another hard working forward next to him and not get over run in the mid park like Watford were with two up top against Spurs recently. The way Kayoute supplements the mid park from center back also means that 352 is our best formation for me.

New right back Reid Ogbonna Kayoute Creswell
Obiang Lanzini
Payet
Antonio Carroll

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 0-5
so many basic footballing errors which we keep on repeating. I I have no idea what formation we are actually trying to play and neither do the players.

Aginst the players city have you have to defend high, as a unit and make them work to stay onside...oh no, we dont- Nordveidt played and looked like a pissed rabbit in the headlights and continually played them onside.

Playing Carroll as the target man makes sense as city are suspect- however pinging balls to him to knock down to no player within 20 yards time and time again is indefensible--fucking garbage

Having said that Obiang played well, again.. and thats about it.

Truth be told none of this squad or the management are good enough..pains me to say...we really are going nowhere with this bunch of deadbeats0 summed up by noble coming on and making things worse, if it were possible...

Absolute garbage west ham

Payet and Noble on at 4v0 down. Bizarre. Either start Payet or at 4 down let him sit out whole match.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 0-5
Bilic is stating the obvious when he says "we weren't good enough" but why would we expect to be able to compete toe to toe with a team that costs as much as Manchester City's? At the risk of sounding defeatist we'd have been better off conceding the tie when the draw was made rather than dealing with the fallout of an all too predictable humiliation. We were doing OK until the penalty; if Feghouli scores a great chance the momentum might have changed again; the bottom line is that they have much more quality than us, as they should have given the money they've spent. The gap between the top six big spenders and the rest looks huge this year and shows what a freak season it was last time round with Leicester. We will continue to struggle to compete at the highest level unless we invest and I don't believe the Davids will do that. The shame is that because of high fan expectations, injuries, bad luck, lousy recruitment and the media spotlight on us, we are struggling to compete in the mini league below the top six. Nothing will change and we will remain at risk of relegation until the two chumps in charge sell up.

Re: ⚽ West Ham v Man City - Official Match Thread FT 0-5
We managed to make Watford look like Barclelona and we were 2 nil up. So no-one should be surprised by last nights result. Love or hate the Stadium it got fuck all to to with that. It's a combination of having too many injuries to begin with, poor transfer dealings and being tight c#nts. Plus as much as I hate to say it a manager who is totally out of his depth in the Premier League. All of which is a recipe for disaster.
