Documentaries
Need something new to watch, so thought it was time for another of these. A couple to get things going.

Milius (2013) Feature length documentary about the man who gave us everything from “Feel lucky, punk?” to “I Love the smell of napalm in the morning” and much more besides. Scorsese, Coppola, Spielberg et al line up to pay tribute.

Youth Terror, the View From Behind the Gun (1978) ABC News documentary about youth crime in New York. One for fans of ’80 Blocks from Tiffany’s” etc.

And before anyone says it: Couple of clips from the 1977/78 Thames series “This Sporting Land” Sadly, the second one’s silent stock footage, but you can’t have everything. Anyone on here spot themseves?

Re: Documentaries
watched 'Jim & Andy : The Great Beyond'. its a doc about the making of Man On The Moon and features Jim Carey's own backstage footage of the shoot that hadn't been seen before now. its interesting watching him inhabit Kaufman's characters but it must have been a nightmare working with him as he took the method acting to extremes. interesting watch for film fans but it does get a bit pretentious at times

The Vietnam War 10 parter finished tonight... for me best series of its type since the World at War.... masterpiece from all involved

Agreed - miles better than anything ive seen - the content alone is unique. Id never heard the nixon/kissinger phone conversations before.

Also very telling that the same mistakes are still being made all over the world by US politicians..

watched the Mick Rock documentary, SHOT. its not a bad film but he does get a bit pretentious in parts of it. can't deny his great work, though even he admits and shows where he nicked ideas from various older films and album covers. no doubt he's lived a fascinating life though and made friends with some genius musicians

Re: Documentaries
sanfran, I agree. none of them are completely clear as to who's right and wrong. just amazed that shit like that 'Mr Big' tactic was allowed in any western country and the evidence permissible

Re: Documentaries
Watched that first episode of The Confession Tapes.

Hard to draw any conclusions to that case, everything was equally dodgy on both sides, imho.
