Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
‘The players are responsible. The advice I’ve given over the years has to have been pretty good because I’ve been managing at this level for such a long time now,’ said the former England boss, whose side face Middlesbrough today.

‘My experiences of talking to players at this top level, and being able to produce a team that wins football matches and probably finish where they should, or better than where they should in terms of what we spend and the players we have... I’m trying to pass that experience on to the players.

Allardyce says the players are to blame for the poor results since he took charge in December

‘I’m a bit frustrated that they haven’t grasped that yet. Where I am struggling is the players keeping the message and sticking to the game plan.

‘If they do that, we’ll have a better chance. My experience and qualifications are better than theirs. Tactics and systems, that’s fine. Players are paid to play.

‘I’m the manager, so the system and tactics are my expertise, not theirs. They have to put it into practice.

‘In possession, they make the decision where and when they pass the ball. If they get that more correct than they have been, we’ll get more results.

Have you ever known such an arrogant, big-headed manager?

He seems to getting credit now for winning a couple on the spin after losing a shit load before then? Also talk of 'he will keep them up' which should always have been a piece of piss anyway. Dunno how he keeps pulling the wool over peoples eyes.

"In fairness he could manage one of the big clubs and may we'll be successful"

Fair point. But I would suggest that could be said for most managers.

Selling your soul? That's a bit dramatic but you do have a point.

Being relegated these days can almost be a death knell for some clubs. They gamble with huge amounts of money in order to stay up and be repaid with.......... More money. It's all about risk and reward.

And when you talk about the sums being paid now to be in the PL you can see why some clubs will opt to change their whole football philosophy for a few years.

In fairness he could manage one of the big clubs and may we'll be successful. His tactic for years at Bolton was just defend and then hit it to Kevin Davies on his head and get okocha or djorkaeff to get it and then they do something skilful

That tactic would work just as well if you had ronaldo or messi or neymar or Suarez to knock it down to. It's just a side like real wouldn't put up with his shit football for long.

He'll probably keep palace up but I reckon pardew would have too

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
Except when he said he could be Real Madrid manager
And should be England manager about 10 years before he got it.

He has Benteke, Zaha, Puncheon and Townsend to create goals ... at a cost of £60m to £80m I would guess ... and has just spent £30m on Van Aanholt & Scchllluup to play left back.
They should stay up at a CANTER and I am guessing his record is very similar to Pardew's

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
Oh I think you're wrong again as usual Hairy as he has pretended to be something else.

BFS told us all he could easily manage Man Utd, Real Madrid, Barcelona or England from his vast experience and advanced use of stats...

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
For fuck sake let the man leave your brain the more you think about him the worse it will be for you.

Sam Allardyce is what he is and has never pretended to be anything else, the more you laugh at him the sicker you will feel in the end.

I loved the after match interview with Zaha I think it was, that said "our plan was keep the game at 0-0 and respect the point hoping to break away and get a winner..."

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
I can't be bothered to look it up, but I'm sure that Palace were out of the relegation places when they sacked Pardew. They were underperforming then and should have been comfortably mid-table with that team.

Big Sam has done nothing to improve them. They are exactly where they were when he started, if not worse. For Pardew, that was enough to get the sack but somehow Allardyce is a genius who never gets relegated. The only reason they are out of the relegation places is because there are 3 worse teams.

Big Sammy does it again!

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
Love allardyce or hate him but he has a record that cannot be denied. When palace lost 0-4 to Sunderland a few weeks back I thought they were down, bit Lo and behold they seem to be turning a corner. Perhaps asking BFS to manage your club is a bit like selling your footballing soul but you can see why clubs do it. To be fair he got us up and kept us there and fair's fair. Palace will stay up.

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
Anyone trying to claim the fat idiot is some kind of defence organising genius just needs to remember that in the season we kept our record number of clean sheets in a season we also managed to shop on average over 2 goals a game in the matches where we did concede

That's not a manager who can organise a defence. That's a manager who can shove an entire team behind the ball to respect the point at 0-0 and then has no idea how to get back into a game when they do concede

There is part of me would love him to look at how we defend, have defended.
Can't help it as a defensive. man marking full back all great teams are built from the back

Re: Not Sam's Fault !!!!!
I'm not his biggest fan as most on here know but yes, I agree he can generally come into a club and get a side to do the basic things well.

If your ambition is just to stay in the league and you don't care about the football your team play, he's ideal. If you want anything more than that, never employ him. Ever.
