Has Hollywood run out of ideas?
Watched a few films on my last flight. Suicide Squad, Dr. Strange and the new Ghostbusters.

All had the same finale where a massive glowing evil cloud covered part of a skyscrapered city. Then said cloud had to be destroyed.

Ran out of ideas a long time ago. Look at Avatar, one of the highest grossing movies of all time due to the 3d aspect and FX technology, but it was basically a retelling of Dances with Wolves.

It'll pass, just like the vampire phase did, then it'll be replaced by something else.

Well if you insist on choosing fantasy films that should not be watched by anyone over the age of 15, what the fuck do you expect.
Hollywoods obsession with superhero's has to end.

In Amazing Spiderman the hero battles to prevent the baddie from launching a toxin over the city from a sky scraper that will turn the population into mutants.

In the 2014 film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the heroes battle to prevent the baddie from launching a toxin over the city from a sky scraper that will turn the population into mutants.

One for the connoisseurs there....

Re: Has Hollywood run out of ideas?
I've been working on a film plot.

It's about an impoverished Polish bloke who after eating a radioactive cabbage suddenly acquires superhuman abilities - mainly such a high level of intelligence that he can outwit anybody he chooses.
However he soon realises to maintain his new powers he has to guzzle at least a litre of of cheap knocked-off vodka everyday.
Pickleman (that's his new alter ego name) has one mission - to destroy the evil 'Brexit Cloud' that has amassed over the UK or his country will fall into total poverty.
After pulling his pants over the top of his Lonsdale tracksuit bottoms, he taps on his his bedroom door, says goodbye to his wife and karate instructor and jumps on the Eurobus to London to find the evil Emperor Farage and defeat his dastardly plan....

It's a work progress.

Honest trailers from screen jnukies on you tube has been saying about those sky things for ages. Even good films do it - see avengers assemble.

I think they ran out of ideas for suicide squad as soon as Margot Robbie signed up - you don't need anything more than her in hitoants to sell a film
