John Motson - edited commentary
The practice of adding commentary to highlights after the match, really pisses me off, especially when done badly by John Motson.

"There are 60 minutes gone West Ham are 3-0 down but a goal now would be interesting. Great through ball and West Ham have scored - unbelievable!"

I see the reason for it, but it is so obvious and really gets my goat.

Rant over.

Brian Johnson never actually said
The bowlers Holding, the batsmans Willey
in commentary either

Someone wrote to him telling him off for supposedly saying it and he read the letter out
The letter was from someone called Tess Tickle

"The batsman's Holding the bowler's Willie..." is the best commentary of all time...

Although it was the other way around, and it was Willey. You're not too hot on Cricket???

The best commentary ever is surely Bjørge Lillelien and the 'your boys took a hell of a beating' etc.
'Maggie Thatcher can you hear me?'

Didn't Motson do the, "Oh! what a goal! - what a goal by Ronnie Radford " ?

I fuckin' hate Motson.

It's that little snigger he does - bellend.

Mind you I fucking hate Jonathan Pearce even more. 'Did he touch the ball with his hand, he did you know!' You fuckin knew damn well he did!

Its funny with Motson. He has been doing the job so long but I cant think of one memorable phrase or piece of commentary from him.

Noting that the player who scored the goal had the same breakfast as he did when he scored against the same opponent 3 years ago doesn't count.

Recall Brain Moore getting confused over Brookings cup final goal
on his commentary and it being cleaned up later.

But we didn't care at the time!!

I cant remember which match it was, a good few years back dozy old motty was commentatiing on the match and when it ended he didn't realise he had the score wrong and he had to do the commentary after the match, maybe this is where it all started

Motson was at the Bournemouth game as I saw him interviewed in the ground afterwards. On that basis he is surely commentating on the game live?

Met him on a stag doo in Bournemouth many years ago and to be honest found him to be a really nice bloke . And his football knowledge is impressive as it is for some probably dull .
