Am sure at the end of the season we can have a thread showing the final financial advantage of the new stadium vs the old in terms of net ticket revenue, commercial income , sponsorship etc etc.
Did we ever have a ball-park figure of what that was meant to be per annum?

A Snodgrass (£10m)?
A Payet (£25m)?
A Pogba (£90m)?

Yes, but that was about 30 years after the East Stand opened.

West Ham don't get nothing. West Ham get half of anything over £4m (I know that means nothing from this first year) and obviously the sacrifice of naming rights was a factor in obtaining the ultra-low rent that has got everyone so worked up.

Re: Vodaphone to sponsor OS
When they built the stand on the other side they moved the pitch and the Chicken Run seating was further away from the pitch edge than Chicken Run standing.
Just pointing out the double whammy of seating and distance from pitch.
Killed the Chicken Run

LLDC get the money.

Vodafone get the publicity.

West Ham get nothing.

Equals ... it's a great deal for West Ham.

I''m a bit confused. When the East Stand opened, from the standing section you could stick your finger up the arse of the player taking the throw-in if you so wanted.

Ok
Name 6 German clubs and their stadium sponsors who you have been attracted to because they have had ,say, Allianz attached?

I was responding to the point that that might not be the case under relegation clauses.
Which is supposedly ok because we are associated with a big name brand.

Publicity for West Ham. People will know Vodaphone far more than they do West Ham

Re: Vodaphone to sponsor OS
I stood on the Chicken Run for its last season as they had closed down my usual spot on the North Bank.
After they sat it down and moved the pitch away it went from an atmosphere creator to a rest home that you didn't even notice was there any more.

Publicity for Vodafone
Attaching themselves to us and we get no money for it
Bet that would go down well on Lady Brady's tv show for business brains.

Its publicity in other countries where ,no one knows, let alone supports West Ham

Re: Vodaphone to sponsor OS
Anyone who thinks the atmosphere didn't change for the worse when UP went all-seater never went. It changed when they knocked down the original Chicken Run ffs (though I'm a bit too young to remember)

What does it matter what sort of brand Vodafone is if we don't get any money from it?

By the way the stadium area currently has THE QUEEN of ENGLANDS name on it (probably a bigger brand) and we don't get any money from her either.
