With the players missing and the teams we are playing, we will need to repeat that performance over the next few weeks. I'm sick of losing so don't care how negative we have to be for the rest of the season to get a few points

What a fantastic point! Clean sheet! Lukaku didn't score! Nordtveit didn't fuck up as usual!
Shame about our strikers...
PS Stoke will give us a tonking and the Bilic Out thread will resume at pace in a week's time.

Well I did not expect much other than a defeat today but thankfully I called it wrong. Unlike what I thought we defended exceptionally and for the first time we shut Lukaku out [ well played Ginge ] . We still found it hard to make a real scoring chance but we had the better of the attacking than Everton. Our squad is depleted though attacking wise and Calleri sadly does not look up to Championship let alone PL standard. Anyway credit to Bilic he set us up effectively usiing three at the back [ welcome back Winston ] and he really got a perfprmance out of the Norwegion, especially in the second half.

Jack flash, Nordtveit was superb today after a shaky start.
Agreed delivered today after a bad start, played in his preferred position and should be kept there IF he can keep delivering.

WB- I disagree, and so does just about everybody else on here. He had a dodgy moment in the first few minutes but after that got better and better, not just in the last 15 minutes. Sounds like you saw what you wanted to see.

Exile - not preconceptions at all, he had a solid last quarter of the game which, in my opinion, clouded people's opinions of how he performed in the rest of the match, particularly given the generally low expectations for him. As I said in my original post, Collins & Arthur were the stand outs, followed by Lanzini.

Wanstead Bert - looks like you're on your own, mate. Try opening your eyes instead of basing everything on your preconceptions.

It's not as if we played as shit as most of the seasona and Everton were off form so couldn't capitalise.
Everton were mader to look shit becasue for once we not only had our tactics spot on, but more so because for once the whole team plated pretty well and kept it up from start to finish.....except Calleri, who would struggle in my 12 year old son's league.

That wasn't the usual Everton that turned up today. Ones that scrap and fight for each ball. They did not seem prepared at all. After our performances this season, they made us look good in a number of areas, but we still could not capitalise. I think early on our players knew they weren't up against a good side today which gave them confidence. Everton were playing as if their season had finished. Sorry, but I suddenly don't buy us improving that much in one game in a number of areas. There was a reason for it. Everton were very poor today. Their fans will not let them get away with a performance like that at Goodison.

I went and I thought it was a decent performance.fpr the first time in ages it didn't look like we'd gift the opposition a goal or two. The back line looked solid, and perhaps with Rakhi on earlier much have nicked it. Ayew had a decent second half I thought.

Chim,
I don't think it's weird. Missed the game today bit from what I've read I'm sure I'd have enjoyed it as much as most fans did. Journos are largely neutral and are writing for neutrals. They want different things from a game. Talk to any Tottenham fan today (if you must) and I'm sure they'll tell you the semi today was an awful experience, just like I still can't take any comfort in how we 'played our part in one of the best cup finals in history' in 2006. But for me and most neutrals watching on TV it was a brilliant game.
A 0-0 draw where one team doesn't have a shot on target for most of the match is rarely going to get described as a wonderfully entertaining game. The neutral doesn't give a toss about a solid West Ham performance. And that is a journo's target audience. But they are not emotionally invested, or as aware of improvements from previous performances. It's the same as MOTD - seeing Collins flying into blocks is never going to push a game up the running order, but if he's doing it for your team it's a different matter.

I never thought I'd ever be defending Nordtveit, but I'm with Keep Dreaming, Nordtveit was superb today after a shaky start
There were a lot more than 2 or 3 good strong tackles he made, it was throughout the match. Barkley didn't get a look in, which is why Lukaku was starved of service
Not only that but he got several nice passes in & a terrific shot blocked that was going in
