If he had gone on a flappy handed run under a bus I could understand it but an illness of a player who USED to play for the visiting team is a step too far in the world of grief tourism.
Everton might want to show support or Spurs at their next home game but not tonight

Unless we can also have a minutes applause for the hypochondriac Carroll reaching 100 games missed. The big poof

Put Bolty's picture on the screen and I might applaud.

Might. ....

Re: Aaron Lennon detained under mental health act
I mean it's a shame he's stir crazy, but I'll be putting as much effort into tonight's minutes applause as I did for George Best's = equals none.

Embarrassing all of the silences etc nowadays. It's football, fuck off.

I shall be joining in and leading the celebration, oops , sorry recognition of whatever Arron Lennon is uppity about this week, and in deference to our hard of hearing fans and to make the london stadium shine shall be leading the activity with a show of jazz hands. Plus sticking two pencils up my nose, underpants on my head and saying " wibble"

Imagine the fine we get if someone sings that and the tabloids pick up on it. Would be worth it just for the outrage.

(I do sympathise with Lennon btw but the minutes applause thing is fucking gay)

Re: Aaron Lennon detained under mental health act
I spent some time in a Mental health ward during my troubles last year. Very sad cases people who couldnt cope with a mentally ill family member basically dumped them at the ward. One bloke kept repeatedly asking where his wife was. People who were troublesome were doped up so they didnt know what day it was. I was medicated to fuck as well and seeing a Psychiatrist every week as were many.

The very sad thing is many families cant cope with a mentally ill family member and theses people end up dumped in a psychiatric ward

Re: Aaron Lennon detained under mental health act
Yeah, I agree coffee, depends on how you define mental illness and im not sure even the medical fraternity have any real rules as the sphere is so large and unless its in your face nuttiness its often not that noticeable to others or its seen as something funny, eccentric or just someone being moody, then people are not forthcoming about it especially men, woman on the other hand!!!!, have read that 1 in 3 Adults will suffer some kind of mental illness at some point during there lives.

You just got to hope you get through it, if it does strike, and get help, at worst its going to kill you, by your own hand, drugs or violence, at best you may suffer from mild depression, anxiety or stress.

Re: Aaron Lennon detained under mental health act
Good question, Private. I wouldn't be surprised if the actual figure is even more than half, depending on how 'mental health issue' is defined.

The sad thing is that it remains a real taboo, probably because we understand so little of how the brain/mind works and are afraid of what we don't know.

Doesn't half the worlds population have mental issues?

A minutes fucking applause? I really hope not.

Feel for the lad, but what exactly is the applause supposed to be for?

How about a minutes silence for the latest injury Carroll gets in the warm up?

Re: Aaron Lennon detained under mental health act
Won't be applauding. I get the sentiment but he's got nothing to do with us and he doesn't play for them. Where does it end?
