Re: Clearout
Will be difficult to offload so many players in one window, probably stuck with most, or have to pay some of their wages to a club to take them or pay them off.

Fletcher
Valencia
Calleri
Feghouli
Carroll
Sakho
Arbeloa
Randolph

Added to Zaza,Tore, Payet payroll savings

That's the dream.

But I dispute the Dave's love that - they actually seem to hate letting any player leave.

Re: Clearout
I'd happily take 15m for Ayew and write it off as a 'try before you buy' 5m loan fee! No idifferent then to the money spunked on Tore, Zaza and Calleri.

The Dave's would love a bit of that, would get his no-doubt inflated wages off the payroll, and free us up to invest in some actual talent on the upward career path..

Re: Clearout
China only place to try and get our money back on Ayew...they pay hugely inflated transfer fees , and he is the sort of mercenary who'd be only too pleased to take his plainly average talents over there.

Realistically he'll still be here next season, rightly or wrongly.

Re: Clearout
I agree Ayew should be shifted, before people start seeing how useless he's been.

Having watched most of the games he's played for us, I couldn't say what his strengths are, where his best position is, how to best utilise him in the side, or what a 'good game' from him looks like.

- No Pace
- No Ball Skills
- One Footed
- Poor in the air
- Can't beat a man
- Can't shield the ball
- Not pally enough to keep Payet here and happy

Sooner we shift him the better.

Re: Clearout
>>> Ayew cost £20m, we won't get that money back. We are better off giving him at least another season.

I can see the logic of selling or keeping. The £20m is gone now so irrelevant - the only decision is what is now best for the club. I think we'd probably be able to sell him okay back to France right now, and that seems like the best outcome. You're right if we give him another season he might be both useful and retain or gain in value, but there's a lot of 'ifs' with that. I also think he's on a very high wage, and he isn't providing much value for that, so overall I'd sell.

Re: Clearout
Players to keep...

Adrian
Cresswell
Masuska
Reid
Ogbonna
Fonte
Obiang
Kouyate
Lanzini
Antonio
Ayew
Fernandez
Snodgrass

Players on the bubble
Byram
Collins
Noble
Nordveit
Fletcher

Players to get rid of
Calleri
Feghouli
Carroll
Sakho
Arbeloa
Randolph

Can't get rid of all in one window but a priority should be goalkeeper, Right back and 2 Strikers minimum......A box to box pacey midfielder too. Bring in Burke and perhaps Martinez as squad additions, give the youngsters a look in pre-season and carling cup, can always drop them back down to the reserves or loan them out if they need more games.....

Re: Clearout
The liverpool result showed we need Noble and Kouyate in the side.

The problem this season has been.

RB
Flair player
and someone who can score

Willtell 8:14 Wed May 17
Re: Clearout
I'd add Kouyate and Ogbonna to that Dolph. Possibly Adrain too as 2 new keepers might be a step too far but otherwise I make you right to say all are available at the right price except for those we definitely need to build around.

Re: Clearout
I see some are employing the entirely flawed "play them because they're young" approach.

From the senior players in the first team squad we should keep Reid, Masuaku, Antonio, Ayew, Obiang, Lanzini.

All the rest should be available with a view to upgrading

To some of the obnoxious Pricks on here try to remember this is a Forum where you put your opinions on the Board.
Just opinions, can one or two of you get your heads round that.??
Did I say Ayew for Quina up front.
No, Quina is a midfielder and all Alex and I are saying they can do no worse than some of the idiots who play week in week out.
Much like some of the idiots on here.
Good Morning.

Doesn't matter who we get rid of and then sign under the current owners direction.

The owners need to go first.

Qunia is a midfielder, and although highly thought of, is probably a million miles away from the first team. Cullen should be ahead of him in the pecking order.

I doubt the likes of Alex V has seen 10 mins of this bloke play. He likes him because he cost us nothing and is young.

You did see what happened the last time a West Ham 1st 11 featured academy players in that number? Forest turned us over 5 - 0 in the cup.

Take a step back from the keyboard to avoid typing out any more crap like that.

>>> Ayew out and promote Quina?

I'd be happy with both of those decisions.

---

Why?

Ayew cost £20m, we won't get that money back. We are better off giving him at least another season. Get rid of bit-part players on big contracts like Carroll and Sakho definitely but at least Ayew stays fit.
Is Quina even our best academy striker? Haven't exactly heard that he's ripping it up.

We are going to finish 12th.

Are we? Burnley away is hardly going to be a walk-over. We could quite possibly (and it's quite likely) finish 15th.
