John Terry sub
Couldn't see it elsewhere, etc.

What the fuck?

Treating the Premier League like a testimonial. Obscene and pathetic.

I know he's a 'Chelsea legend' as we keep being told, but it's not like he was Bobby Moore or something - and I'm not just saying that for the obvious reasons.

Apparently his suggestion - of course it was, the twat - and Conte went along with it.

I've lost a lot of respect for Conte today. Never had any for Terry or Chelsea and wouldn't expect any more from them or their fans. But still, fucking hell.

So if people knew about this beforehand is this any different from the Sutton reserve keeper eating a pie on the sidelines against Arsenal in the cup?

Chelsea supporter at work reckons this was rumoured on some of their message-boards last week.

I fail to see how this is any different from Moncs putting the ball out virtually straight from the KO when Harry and the lads had sold the time of the first throw in.

BBC reporting that one bookmaker reporting they have paid out 3 bets on this with one punter claiming he had £25 at 100/1
Who knows whether this is true or just publicity seeking but the Premier league must surely take a look.

Thousands won on Chelsea captain's 26th-minute substitution

Re: John Terry sub
Wow that is quite cringe-worthy.

It would be great if, as a total piss-take, our players arranged to do the same the next time we play them. No particular time or player, just do it for all our subs. And maybe work it into our goal celebrations too.

Re: John Terry sub
Not a major problem for me. Dead game for both teams and no other sides being affected in any way. The bloke isn't my cup of tea but obviously he is considered a Chelsea legend by his own so fair play for some sort of a tribute. I think it was a bit cringe worthy happening in the 26th minute and it would have been a bit more "classy" happening late on but if Sunderland agreed and that's what they wanted to do then fine.

Rather that than seeing Alan Devonshire and Phil Parkes walking away quietly after a last game hammering at Oldham or Steve Potts sitting on his arse on the bench with seconds to go of a game that doesn't matter. It's nice that they acknowledge their long serving players although maybe a tad over the top.

Re: John Terry sub
Lolz if sunderland player went over to touchline and left the ball 3/4 over whilst pointing to the bench. Both teams stop then they go on to score whilst love-in happening

Re: John Terry sub
I agree on that, Eddie.

He certainly wouldn't have wanted to pull this stunt against us on the last game of the season, doubt it would have gone so well. Would have been interesting to see if Bilic and Noble would have been so generous towards him.

Kind of sums Moyes up too. I'd like to think our manager would tell Chelsea where to go.

Typical John Terry.

Stages attempt to enhance his reputation. Comes out looking even more of a twat.

From the independent

"However, despite concerns about the legality of both teams agreeing to this, the Premier League are understood to be relaxed about Terry’s departure."

Other clubs complaining reeks a bit of Sheffield Utd to me. And if this were us, we'd certainly be telling other teams to one. Although I'm sure Moyes will have a nice all expenses paid holiday somewhere in the summer.

it's just a shame Cahill didn't get an injury when he was basically made to replace the cunt, play an hour and miss the cup final.

wonder if he'd be so fond of 'JT' and his idea had THAT happened....

He missed a pen to lose one CL and was suspended when Chelsea won another

Re: John Terry sub
i'd be very surprised if somebody doesnt look into this. cant you bet on the number of throw ins or something? i thought it was shocking what happened to be fair. how that could be allowed is beyond me, and how a relegated club were happy to let it happen in front of their fans is even more baffling

simon.s 11:51 Mon May 22
Re: John Terry sub
Take away the fact that it is Terry, and Chelsea. This bloke has cleaned up with domestic honours, and the CL and EL. Fantastic servant for them, but no doubt a bit of a cunt.

Football is about being a winner, he leaves the club a hero, regardless what the rest of the everyone else thinks.

Re: John Terry sub
Seriously baffled as to how many here are saying what amounts to spot fixing "doesn't matter".

Ref, opposition manager and his team, all complicit in a pre-arranged "event" during a game. It affected the PLAYING of the game and is the thin end of the (betting) wedge.

There should have been a massive fines for both clubs and officials demoted.

(John Terry should also be imprisoned.)

Re: John Terry sub
Sums up the club and the man.

The ref should've booked the lot of the cunts for time-wasting.

Hope they and Sunderland get fined for it. It's effectively spot-fixing.
