British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
Sorry it's a bit late folks, just got home from indoor not long ago.

Anyway, they Lions started brightly, but already don't appear to have learned from the Blues game in that the slow, awkward phase building approach just doesn't work here.

Keep an eye out for Mo'unga (the new DC in some minds), Goodhue (called into the ABs training squad) and the 8 current ABs in the squad.

Enjoy.

Not sure how serious it is yet. It's a grade 1 tear (is that the most serious or least serious?) but he's had the same injury before and that kept him out for a month.

Devastating loss if that's him finished.

Farrell injured.

Going to be a long old damaging tour.

This is, without doubt, the most radically different Lions tour of all time, i so far as the local opposition is approaching test match standard.

The days of sweeping through New Zealand unbeaten are long gone however, it may just stand them in good stead come test time.

I don't expect Lions to win any of the tests, perhaps one if the catch the ABs off guard, but I do expect them to competitive throughout as they continue to be given a thorough work out by the super 15s.

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
Whilst it wasn't the best pass, Henshaw should've caught it. It was only fractionally behind him and was neither aimed at his laces nor had loads of pace on it.

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
That one run by Sinckler was absolute quality, but down here, we expect much better passing from our props.

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
Just watched the game, having managed to avoid the result all day. What it did show was the players who have played themselves out of the test side. Henshaw, Payne, Nowell, Biggar and Best all confirmed that they won't be near the test team.

Stander did OK as did Henderson surprisingly. Webb was decent and both Joseph and Sinckler showed flashes of brilliance.

But that's played 4 lost 2 now and another defeat against the Maoris on Saturday could be fatal. At the moment, my team for the 1st test would be:

15: Watson
14: North
13: Joseph
12: Te'o
11: Williams
10: Farrell
9: Murray
1: Vunipola
2: Owens
3: Furlong
4: Itoje
5: Kruis
6: O'Mahony
7: Warburton/O'Brien
8: Faletau

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
The best the Lions can expect is a 2-1 loss in the tests, because....
1 - they are playing badly
2 - they are taking on the winners of the last two World Cups
3 - Two of the tests take place at Eden Park, a place where NZ haven't lost since 1994

Its not a contest to see which refs get which games
The refs are neutral
Get on with it and play the games

Sounding more like HYENAS than LIONS

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
Yes, I'm ok with the refs.

At the end of the day, the team that adjusts best to the ref will have the least problems.

And the best team will generally win.

I think the ABs are ahead on both counts, so we're likely to win the series.

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
Sven/EAH so I'm guessing your both happy with the choice of these refs for the 3 tests? No problem not having an Aussie/Kiwi ref over seeing ANY of the games? 2 of the 3 refs from the WEAKER Northern hemisphere!!! Sven, so the "stronger" Southern Hemisphere get one test!! Lets have this conversation in 3 weeks time!!!
Yes its 2 different games, and yes the ref changes games with his reading of the game, as he did today!!

As I posted to you the other day marty....

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11824446

In summary, none of the 3 refs for the test series have EVER been in charge when the All Blacks have lost

Romain Poite - 6 tests, 6 All Blacks wins
Jerome Garces - 8 tests, 8 All Blacks wins
Jaco Peyper - 11 tests, 10 All Blacks wins, 1 draw

Sven Roeder 11:35 Tue Jun 13
Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
So you are saying the Northern hemisphere refs are right in their interpretations and the Southern wrong?
And they should all fall into line with how you want to play the game rather than you adapting.

What astonishing arrogance from the WEAKER hemisphere in rugby.

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
Wallop, got em!!! I knew to two stooges would be all over that!!! So the ref had a "Fair" game? No home bias? Bloody awful, and to think the Kiwis were all over the ref on Saturday for pulling up the scrums!! Every time the lions took the ball into a ruck, the ref pulls them for holding onto it, the Crusaders done the same, all ok then!!! The tests WILL be decided by the refs!!! And Sven, slip on the 1980s Wham shorts, and carry on with the tennis old boy!!!

Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
I'm going to repeat what I said the other day, a French ref, Lions win, cheating Aussie ref Kiwis win. Its panning out that way chaps!! 1st test, South African cunt, Kiwis win, last 2 test French!!! Fuck em, happy days. At one point, one of ours took there player into touch, player screaming at ref, his in touch, both the lino, Ref looked and line out Kiwis!!! Cheating wankers!!! Fat man Lomas, you know its how's its panning out!!!

East Auckland Hammer 10:24 Tue Jun 13
Re: British Lions 2nd Super Rugby Test vs Crusaders
So, the Highlanders B side, missing 9 players to rep duties and their coach, become the SIXTH Otago-based side to beat the Lions.

That's some record.

I think probably only the ABs have a better record.
