David Sullivan Speaks
Joint-Chairman David Sullivan is looking forward to being reunited with the ‘best goalkeeper’ he has worked with in Joe Hart.

West Ham United have signed England’s No1 on a season-long loan from Manchester City, reunifying Hart with the man who brought him to Birmingham City in 2009.

Eight years on, Mr Sullivan is delighted to have again secured the services of a stopper who earned a place in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year during his season at St Andrews.

“Joe was absolutely fantastic for us at Birmingham City eight years ago,” said the Joint-Chairman, who played an influential role in completing the deal for the 30-year-old. “He is the best goalkeeper I’ve worked with and I fully expect him to be equally as good for us this coming season.

“I have been working on this transfer for some months and to see Joe wearing a West Ham United shirt is very satisfying. I expect him to be a great player for our Club and can’t wait to see him in a Hammers shirt at London Stadium for the first time.

“Joe has gone from strength to strength since his season at Birmingham, when he was voted Player of the Year, and it would not surprise me at all if he is in the running for the Hammer of the Year award come next May.”

Hart joins his former Manchester City teammate and fellow two-time Premier League champion Pablo Zabaleta at London Stadium, and the Joint-Chairman revealed the summer spending is not yet over.

“We are concentrating solely now on signing two attackers, then we will be satisfied,” the Joint-Chairman confirmed.

“We said at the start of the summer that we wanted to prioritise quantity over quality and that is what we have done, and what we will continue to do.

“The Board and the management know we need a couple of players who will help us to score more goals next season, so that is what we will be concentrating on over the coming days and weeks.”

I don't judge Sullivan by how he made his money. I judge him by what he does and says. Most will judge him on the size of his spend in the transfer window. I don't.

He's a very poor Chairman but knows that so appointed Karren Brady to cover for his ineptitude. He clearly has no respect for employees and does what he wants for WHUFC - which is to play at FM17 and tell himself (and fans at the first opportunity) that he does it better than anyone else.

Ahh well - he's our wanker chairman and we like a maverick....

Re: David Sullivan Speaks
The only time I've ever been really surprised at a Sullivan quote was when he went really easy on Grant saying something like 'he was a nice man and I don't really blame him for our relegation. We as chairmen under-invested in the team. It's a mistake we won't make again'.

We have a short, self-made chairman who falls very much outside the establishment. An establishment that still looks down its nose sniffilly at the way he made his dough. Okay, he's not totally house-trained but if you expect him to be an in-the-shadows type of chairman who keeps shtum you are going to be very disappointed.

Is that what he meant to say -
"“We said at the start of the summer that we wanted to prioritise quantity over quality and that is what we have done" .... Surely he means Quality over Quantity - or maybe not. Just Saying.

For those saying that Sullivan tipping Hart to be HOTY being an admission that we've got a difficult season coming up, do you know who was hammer of the year in 1980-81? A season where we won the second division, got to the final of the league cup and got through a couple of stages of European football (I'm calling the season a success).

Answer: Phil Parkes.

Try not to be too gutted son.

Looks like you've got a little queue of people willing to talk to you so you haven't got time to continue to make made up non-existent points to try and have a pop at me anyway.

1chop, yeah I remember. Piquionne was labelled a great signing at the time. Grant a good manager too! Haha. By the way is the Grant O'Neil thing any worse than selling players behind Curbs back that resulted in a pay out?

Johnson, couldn't be arsed to watch you Croe your way out of it. Didn't even read past the date etc.

We went down under Gold and Sullivan after they did the usual marquee signing on on a free who was then out injured till February.

were happy with one poor full back on each side and no competent striker. Then displayed their usual class of throwing the manager (their man in the first place) under a bus for it after fucking up replacing him in January after getting caught talking to O'Neil behind Grant's back.

Re: David Sullivan Speaks
Eggy offered to contribute to the stadium and be part of the design process didn't he? As did Brown I think but they were told to poke it by that fool Coe and his mob.

So, why are you making up it'd be exactly the same shambles G&S DELIBERATELY entered into agreement over now, simply because it was cheap rent?

As I said trying to make a point that didn't really exist.

I'll talk about loans if you want:

Loans from banks owned by the Icelandics were fine as they were spending (albeit not very well) but was fucked by a collapse of a whole country? Not a lot they could do about that, hence why I couldn't have complained on failed promises, they didn't get the chance to fail. So, not much of an issue other than the disappointment of the crash, although as I said I doubt we'd have achieved much with Curbs in charge. Had that happen led I would have commented, as I was at the time anyway.

Loans from the BERKS to the club that they hide behind as an excuse for not spending money however, after expecting praise for clearing (but lying about) third party debt? And lying to fans about whether interest was payable on them? Yeah I have a problem with that, apologies for not liking the club DELIBERATLEY being held back by its own owners and the fans blatantly lied to.

How dare I.

Re: David Sullivan Speaks

Do you have any quotes on the Icelandics taking us the Olympic Stadium with running tracks, etc as my recollection was that once that was the likely state of the stadium post-Olympics our interest faded and we were looking at different locations like the Parcelforce site?

Re: David Sullivan Speaks
So...the same stadium, retractable seating, athletics track...under the Icelandics would have been fine with you?

Loans were fine? Failed big name transfer targets is fine? False promises of CL football?

I think I'm the one guilty of not reading your posts because the impression you have given constantly for years has been you're a little against all of that. Must have got the wrong end of the stick?

Re: David Sullivan Speaks
When I said I didn't read the rest of your post I meant I didn't read the rest of your post.

Did you cover all that in it?

I don't recall the Icelandics ever lying to fans about anything to do with a stadium move, on account the was nothing for them to lie about.

I don't recall grown men who should know better getting giddy with excitement about a stadium move whilst they were in charge.

They weren't around long enough to fail to deliver a five year plan although employing that dreary cunt Curbs would never have delivered that. They didn't relegate us though which is something the BERKS managed first season on their terms with their man and hold the all time record in the PL for as well.

For failed transfer targets see my previous comment re: Curbs.

I criticised Curbs employment and continued employment widely throughout his time, which caused no end of angst on here, so I think it's maybe you who might be rewriting history to try and prove some silly point that didn't really exist in the first place.

You'll have to remind me what lies the Icelandics told about anything to do with the kit for me to deal with that.

Re: David Sullivan Speaks
It's really odd how you have no comments about huge loans, ground moves, retractable seating, athletics tracks, promises of champions league football, failed transfer targets, and kit traditions....

It's usually your thing. My guess is you weren't as obsessive in those days about everything the board do, and since innocently forgotten it, rather than you would attempt to rewrite history and debate it.

Re: David Sullivan Speaks
That's right AMA, the Icelandic chairmen picked the team. It was them who did an interview saying Noble wasn't ready for a dogfight and therefore wouldn't feature and them who specifically targeted Quashie.

For your info, I would usually read your posts but I honestly stopped at that point so I can't comment on the rest.
