loved val doonican's show as a kid. I was always fascinated by some group he had on regularly that would sometimes wear fisherman jumpers, I think they were called The Spinners :.)

When young, remember being forced into watching a weekly Glen Cambell show, on the BBC (Sunday nights late 70's?). Thought it would be horrible, but I did actually quite enjoy it.

Only got into Glen Campbell as I got older, and developed my musical tastes.

Great voice, the song 'Wichita Lineman' blows me away every time I hear it. Definitely one of my desert island discs.

That's rather an over-reaction to what was at the very worst a marginal misjudgement in good taste. If Joe had topped and tailed his post a bit for the benefit of those not familiar with what he was referring to there would have been no lapse of taste at all.

It hardly justifies calling him a freak and a pervert.

One of the greats. His Adios album, released this summer but recorded a few years back, showed he didn't lose his voice. As did the previous album, Ghosts On The Canvas - title track written for him by Paul Westerberg. Bit of a bastard at times. But what a singer. What a guitar player. I'm off to listen to By The Time I Get To Phoenix for the millionth time. RIP Glen.

Jeez, there really are some freaks on here. How about you just fuck off and find some site full of like minded perverts instead of infesting this one.

Never, ever tire of hearing Wichita Lineman, one of the greatest songs ever. Jimmy Webb wrote some superb songs.

Glen Campbell was a brilliant singer and performer and will be sadly missed, but what a career he had. RIP rhinestone cowboy.
