Your memory of both Forest games is pretty close to mine.
Up there me and three mates saved one of ours from being thrown in the Trent by their mob after the game. Had we arrived on the scene a few seconds later he would have been in head first.
Could be dodgy getting back to the station unless everyone stuck together, which was not always the case.
Spurs really copped it one season up there. I have forgotten the year but I seem to recall several had to be fished out the river by the OB mid winter.

Now we're going back a few years and the memory is not as good, but I was definitely at that game in the NB. As you say Forest ended up on the pitch and plod were going to escort them down the tunnel, but they didn't want to miss the game loads jumped into the Westside where they were unwelcome and ended back on the pitch again and down the tunnel. I am sure this was well before the game had started. I may have it wrong but I seem to remember Newcastle receiving similar around the same time? Although nothing compares with Man United going on the pitch in 75.

I remember it being lively at Forest one year late 70's a few went in the Trent, bloody long way down! Then their brave lot waited until three quarters of ours had got through the turnstiles in the away enclosure before deciding we were heavily outnumbered and easy pickings, steamed in with not a copper to be seen fortunately our firm stood firm then took it to them and they backed off.

Lard Forest lads were humiliated countless times at ours..but they certainly weren't alone. And they were no mugs either.
They got their revenge at few times up there over the yrs.
Good away days Notts

The first attempt was on the 8th October 77 Vs Nottingham Forest. A police line down the west side of the South Bank failed miserably and the few hundred Forest crew were exposed to the full force of the South Bank Massive.
Without hesitation they fled into the West Side (where i was standing) where there was no respite for them, many of them left the ground via the tunnel
Following the debacle the police upped their game with a double line of coppers though constantly under pressure from rival fans
As I remember it the first partition fence went up in time for the Man united game in December 77
By the time of our final game that season, when were relegated by Liverpool in front of a full house in a very very aggressive atmosphere partition fence had 2 lines with a 1 metre gap...
Hope that helps from my rather rusty memory

What year did they stick in the big fence in the South Bank then?
Attendance boosted by the 300 coppers standing between the two sets of fans in there, classic and what a shit job that must have been.

Some cracking old THE BIG MATCH replays being shown on BT Sport from the 1976 season… Spurs v WHU Dec 76… Alfie CONN-Artist getting a penalty out of nowhere when Bonzo’ just brushed him… what a cunt that bloke was… also had Henry Kissinger as a guest at Stamford Bridge for a game v Wolves… kicks off everywhere… Brian Moore: “Well Henry Kissinger needs to get among the fans and use his diplomacy skills “… Ha Ha… loving it at the moment

The OP's link is pretty good, what with its moving cameras and stuff.
Reckon the penalty decisions will be reversed if the incidents recur today - ref would claim he was unsighted for the one we got, and that ManU's superstars need protecting as he gave the one they were denied
