Bilic Board meeting determines he's the man
Before this gets locked how is it unreasonable to have, on a West Ham forum a discussion about the manager in charge when we have many, many threads about players who are contracted to us. There will always be fans for and fans against an individual and a forum is a place to air those opinions, whether positive or negative, it is the very nature of a forum. The fact it was locked was poor form in my opinion.

Whilst it will be easy for some posters to say "all this after 1 loss to Man U" they are forgetting the percentage of fans that have been saying Bilic is not up to the job midway through last season, nothing has changed.

We now have the players but whilst we have that incompetent friendly friendly chap at the helm we will do well to finish 12th this season.

Make sure you make a note of this as anything better if he is in charge come the end of the season will be an absolute miracle, he is out of his depth, clueless tactically and should of been replaced in the summer.

I said it 4 months ago and I will say it again, the biggest mistake we will of made in the summer was not replacing Bilic.

Now if people have different view and opinions that is perfectly normal and I would hope this is something that is able to be discussed on a West Ham forum.

Are you going to keep repeating this mantra, dropping off managers as they are sacked until there is no one else to quote?

1993 our biggest problem will always be when trying to attract a new manager will be them two cunts in the boardroom.
Let's be honest who the fuck would want to work for them.
A decent available manager will always have a choice of jobs while these two cunts are here we won't be any decent managers first choice.

Read somewhere over the weekend that bilic said his goodbyes to the players after the match!

Probably utter crap but fits the scenario of Noble and Collins leading discussions and that we will use the next ten days to source a new manager?

Re: Bilic Board meeting determines he's the man
Whoever we temporarily get in now will be better than Bilic. Our own players are now having to do his job for him by giving team talks, the blokes respect amongst the players is well and truly finished, as is his tactical and basic motivational ability.

Get to the summer with a temporary manager in place and then look to appoint somebody of the Naggelsmann ilk to take us forward. Shambles that it has come to this as he should of been replaced midway through last season, alas here we are. We need to act before the Palace game in my opinion.

I don't think they'd go for the cheap option, just because of the money. Allardyce was on a fortune, and Benitez would have been one of the highest paid coaches in the country had he joined, I would have thought.

I wouldn’t put Bilic in the same category as Grant. Not just yet.

These two spivs have built a career on taking gambles. Bilic is another of those gambles. If everything pans out ok, they will shake his hand at the end of the season and move onto the next poor sap.

SKY sources Leicester want Sean Dyche, but it's understood that Dyche would prefer the Everton job

Presumably there are fans of Stoke and Bournemouth discussing why their Boards are hanging on to Hughes and Howe and who can replace those two.

The Express have us linked to the Hoffenheim manager who isnt even old enough to remember Italia '90 (this was when football peaked).

anyway, typical move from the club - linked to all sorts of names then end up with the cheapest option - Westley as caretaker, guides us to 14th place and gets a two year contract.

A high risk approach indeed though Branded? Still makes no sense based on what their history and the multi millions at stake.

I thought it was a gentlemans agreement with Benitez at one point but that ship has surely sailed now?

Probably have a replacement in mind and need him to do his job in the mean time?

Re: Bilic Board meeting determines he's the man
Yep 2011 repeated

What is the rationale for sticking with him?

Save a couple of million in compensation? Makes no sense when u see the millions at stake and millions wasted on Ayew and Carroll etc

Bilic has been failing for 18 months. Is it Sullivan and Golds ego or need for appreciation by being seen as the exception in football ownership by honouring a contract ? Again makes makes no sense with the money at stake from relegation?

Is it there is no one available to come in? Nah there are candidates if Leicester and Everton's recent actions are to go by?

Is it that there are no candidates that will comply with the demands or constraints G&S place on managers? Maybe but why was Benitez ready to sign? Or was he?

I just cannot work out the logic or reason for sticking with Bilic so am guessing it's an emotional one and they like him or feel sorry for him or do not want to be seen as the bad guys? Not a formula for success in any business.

It is bizarre. We are going down I am convinced of it having seen the lack of intensity, pace and work rate last Friday. Setting up with 4 at the back does not work with the players and lack of intensity and fitness we have and yet he Goes back to it asap

We will be relegated again sadly as our owners seem frozen with fear to do anything :-(

Re: Bilic Board meeting determines he's the man
IT´S A FARCE!!!

Important questions:

q.Does the board believe Billic is the future?
a.Doubtful as no new contract and he has been on tenterhooks far too many times. Often undemrined by owners on TV. Stats don´t lie - not enough points, too many goals conceded

follow on question - then why keep him when there are good managers available NOW?

q.Will the board back Billic to spend if needed in January if his contract may not be extended?
a.Highly unlikely significant purchases will be allowed given the uncertaintly unless we are clear of relegation, which is also highly unlikely given current position.

follow on question - then why keep him when we may obviously need to make significant purchases and sell players to keep us up?

q.Board needs to stick and accept he may take us down or act at the point necessary to give us a chance of staying up. When is that point, media reports next 2 games (I say thats rubbish). Cup match v weakened spurs side and we´ll also have to play fringe players then the important 1 game is palace. If we win both does he stay?? Farcical decision if so.Likewise if he loses both, it tells us nothing we don´t already know.He may win these next two then loose the next 5!! His sell by date long expired...

follow on question - why stick with a manager for the sake of saving 1-2 mil payout when the cost of losing premier league status is huge, far greater.

Conclusion - none of it adds up, the board are clueless penny pinchers, hoping the cheap yes man Billic keeps us up and can get a new contract rather than pay off and a new manager who wants a better salary and far more spendiature.Keeping Prem status on the cheap whilst bringing in the money and promising the fans the world. Keep net spend to a minimum.
Buy you LOVE the club right pron bro´s???

Re: Bilic Board meeting determines he's the man
such a weird situation, its commonly reported & acknowledged that he's gone........... and yet we still bumble along until things get so bad that they have to sack him.

ridiculous that you have so many media outlets reporting stuff that only the players, bilic & the board would know.

Have to agree sand iron, WHO poll says it all, I've never felt so low as I did after that complete and utter garbage Friday night. If I was a paying fan I'd want the manager and board by the bollocks, in her case her labia. Not sacking him equals they've no ambition, fourth from bottom will be ok . A sad sad situation.

What trully depressing times for being a West Ham fan. I can't believe we're in this mess, apart from going down this year (which is still very much a strong possibility) what else could possibly go wrong? You just know theirs another calamity/catastrophic episode waiting to happen anytime soon.. It's like a real life football club version of the film 'final destination'
