Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
OS

West Ham United can confirm that Sofiane Feghouli has joined Galatasaray on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

The Algeria winger moves to the Turkish Super Lig club after a single season in Claret and Blue, having joined the Hammers from Spanish side Valencia in summer 2016.

Feghouli totalled 27 appearances and four goals for West Ham, including one against Slovenian UEFA Europa League opponents NK Domzale in the first-ever fixture at London Stadium in July last year.

He added further strikes in Premier League fixtures against Crystal Palace and West Bromwich Albion in Stratford before netting at Burnley in what turned out to be his final appearance for the Club in May.

West Ham United would like to thank Sofiane for his efforts and wish him well in his future career.

Re: Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
We only broke even on the deal as we used most of the fee to pay him off. Another failed punt.
We could have got a lot more for him IMHO.
We will lose money on Snodgrass too.

Did we pay them or did they pay us?

I thought he was quite a skillful player...maybe he was a bit lost in some of our bizarre formations last season - he wasn't the only one tbf

Good luck to him...he will probably be more at home in Istanbul and we get a transfer fee for a player signed on a free.

If also Snodgrass goes then I reckon we need another winger to come in, and we also need back up/competition for Lanzini. Plus we probably need another striker as relying on Sakho and Carroll as back up/competition for Hernandez is asking for trouble.

We're 3 players short, IMO.

Think if he was not on the massive wages as reported we would of kept him.

Good news we've sold Fegs

Not good enough for us, showed no consistency and little quality. Not worth half the wages he was on. Time to get a winger with a bit of quality to replace him

Re: Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
Fegs played as a number "10" for Valencia and Algeria.

Bilic sticks him on the wing.

Sounds familiar.

There is good player in Feghouli.

Good luck to him.

Doomed to fail under Bilic.

Re: Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
Didn't Fegs play more centrally against Burnley last season and looked a lot better. Was probably never actually a winger.

Anyway free up the wages and take a punt on Jota.

Better than Ayew? No!
Better than Snodgrass? Yes!
Snd to think we may sell the older, worse player (Snograss) for more thsn Fegs.
We haven't seen the best of either but Fegs has more ability & more to come, Snoddy is now lower Prem side at best more likely a devlining career in the Championship before retiring aged 32!
Ge's a sweaty! Their lifespans 41 years!!!

Right move - for him then
Right deal - for him then

Wrong club
Wrong league
Wrong time

Right move for all now

Re: Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
show pony 'winger' who didn't want to track back and hlpe his full back, never beat a man or put in a cross. constantly cut inside, abandoning his actual role and position.

each goal he scored for us was because he was trying to be a number 10. he actually had a good game at burnley finally last year, essentially playing as a number 10.

i'd rather than albrighten, lennon or grosiki than this lightweight fool.

Better than Ayew!

The utter shit you read on here.

Feghouli is fucking useless, can't believe someone paid money for him. Over the moon he is gone.

Re: Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
As others have said - definitely a better option than Snodgrass & Ayew. Shame to see him leave as he would be a busy though fairly ineffective sub. Not sad to see him leave, but definitely think that he has potential once he settles somewhere to be a decent player. Think that letting him go for a nominal fee was probably a mistake, unless he was on a large wage of course. Wish him all the best, unlike the majority of signings last summer, he actually looks a trier.

Re: Sofiane Feghouli joins Galatasaray
Didn't work out for him, shame, as there is certainly a player there, and would get the nod over Snodgrass and Ayew every time, for me.

Good luck to him.

Now, Daves, about those freed up wages........

Think he has more to offer than Snodgrass and Ayew.
To be honest it's probably for the best if all 3 go and we try and replace them with 3 more suitable players.
With Feghouli's signing on fee we probably paid £35m for that lot.
Rip it up and try again

I'm struggling to think of a worse year buying of players than last season at West Ham.
Maybe the no-marks that relegated Villa but we have run them close.

Shame he was in so much money as I thought he really started to look decent. Crazy wage though
