Yes even the great Jonah Lomu (RIP) is not held in higher regard in All Black history than Pinetree

Sad news about old "Pine tree"
Before my time but his legend is greater than even that of Lomu

Still alive thanks Cough.

Sad day for NZ rugby and there have been plenty of tributes flowing in from friend and foe alike. Most of his foes became friends anyway.

Favourite anecdote so far came from Willy John McBride. They had a square up in a match early on in McBride's career and he planted one on Meads. Apparently, one of the other Irish players came over and asked McBride if he knew who he'd just punched and he said no.

"You've just punched Colin Meads, now we're ALL dead" was the reply.
