WHO Poll
Q: 2018/19 Wolves (H)
a. At last we have a win now let's make it two, Win
b. A win against 10 men and two leagues below us is fine, but this will be much harder I'll take a point, Draw
c. Who are we kidding, a win against Wimbledon and all is rosy, forget it we're getting our arses kicked in this one, Lose
d. It's at times like these when you really do miss Love Island
e. I was all over this game until I found out it's not on the box, the broadcasting companies really don't care about us hard core fans do they, I might pop off to Thorpe Park for the day instead, obviously in my WHU shirt

Remember him signing at a time when we conceded a lot of goals ( hmmmm sounds familiar ), He was a hard working, honest pro and gave his best in a short spell with us.

Sad when anyone goes before 80s nowadays as it usually means one of 2 or 3 things which aint nice ( heart/stroke, cancer etc. ).

RIP Bill

I recognised that sticker in the original post straight away. Still have that Panini sticker album from 1978 tucked away somewhere!!!Decent player I seem to remember from my childhood memories but any centre half was going to find it a nightmare replacing Bobby Moore in the mid 70's. RIP.

Re: Bill Green RIP
Barely remember him really but for that era and the Admiral shirt (my first and ONLY replica) alone, RIP Bill. Win or lose, those were happy(er) Hammers days for me as a lad. IRONS.

Re: Bill Green RIP
There's a video on Dale's website showing Green's only goal for West Ham. Psycho Cross and Pat Holland got the other two in a 3-1 win over Chelsea. Hooray.

Re: Bill Green
Must have seen all of his home appearances and quite a few away games, but for the life of me I can't recall much about him other than a big bloke who got stuck in.

But sad news, so RIP big Bill.

Re: Bill Green
It is sad news, Bill will never go down as a Hammer's legend, he only lasted a season in a poor side but he was whole hearted and, like a few other posters on here, we saw him play.

RIP Bill

Bloody hell 66 is no age nowadays. RIP Bill
I agree with a previous poster, always a bit of a shock to hear of a player passing that I watched as a young man

Re: Bill Green
Just text my mate, he played for Scunthorpe when he was manager there. He flogged him to Kettering and told him he'd earn more money and he could also get a job as he was getting married.

He's a senior exec in the leisure industry now and was gutted at the time as he was a scunthorpe boy but was very grateful in hindsight. He went on to become Kettering Captain when they were a real force in Non League and played in the FA Cup 3rd round against Blackburn. He also played for England C. Funny how life works out sometimes.

RIP Bill Green

R.I.P Bill

Not when someone you remember watching as a kid, playing in the claret 'n' blue passes.

Sad news.

Can't see this news on the official site. I don't suppose he sold too many shirts though.
Alvin must have known him well.

Had been working as a recruitment officer at Southampton.
Just thought about him last week as was watching one of those Big Match Revisited episodes from 1977 where he played in a 3-2 win at Highbury.
