Two McDonald's branches striking today.
What is wrong with this Country? How are the people of Crayford and Cambridge going to survive without a double bacon and egg mcmuffin?

Fuck potential Armageddon this should be story number 1 on Sky news.

Apparently the staff are not " lovin it "

Staff want an extra six pounds an hour, management prepared to give them 25 pence. Looks like the classic McDonalds dilemma...

Six Nuggets or a Quarter Pound(er)

Mcdonalds staff striking.

Grown men discussing a potential protest because their club did not buy a 30 million pound midfielder.

What next?

While I agree with the argument for bettering ones self and seeking a superior job, the reality is that for some people that's their lot.

If they are striking against zero hours contracts then good on them. They already obviously have very little financial security. When often the franchise owner is absolutely raking it in. Whether a person should get the equivalent of 20 grand for working in a McDonalds is another debate.

Not sure I'd class this as socialism. They just want a bit more money and more job security.

nyc, why is it when a minion wants to raise his pay it is seen as socialism but when a governor takes a big wad that is a reward of capitalism?

Re: Two McDonald's branches striking today.
That's all kicked off over here too. McDonalds workers have unionized and become puppets of the left, demanding the near doubling of the min wage to $15. They would be better off Investing in educating people in skills for better paid jobs and leave burger flipping to the college kids. They conveniently ignore the simple laws of economics I.e. Consequent increase in labour costs and price increases will see their jobs disappear in favour of more automation.

Personally I would phase out the bacon because sausage is the only way to go.

I tried to order using one of those machines.
Gave up and went to the counter to order.

Re: Two McDonald's branches striking today.
Not been in a McDonalds for 25 years or more -- had no idea you could order by machine now! Surely with sucha formulaic unchanging menu, it can;t be tooo much of a leap to make the entire process from refigeration to serving automatic too? I'd imagine that the only reason this doesn;t happen yet is that low-paid humans are still cheaper than high-end machines.

So what's the point of the bacon?

East Auckland Hammer 11:43 Mon Sep 4
Re: Two McDonald's branches striking today.
The sausage actually overpowers the bacon a little bit. There is twice as much of it though, so it's no surprise.

Re: Two McDonald's branches striking today.
EAH

Surely the bacon would diminish the taste of the sausage? One or the other. Or one after the other, if you prefer.

The Sausage McMuffin vs Bacon McMuffin argument is completely pointless in NZ.
