Recommendation for UK Bank
Can anyone recommend a UK bank that will provide a relationship managed service to a growing business with a turnover of $2m+.

Key for me is to be able to speak to a bank manager that can answer / resolve any queries in a timely manner. HSBC our current bank can't do it, we're too small.

The sort of bank you are looking for disappeared decades ago.

However if you're looking for a bank with an automated telephone service where you can trawl through the options and then sit on hold for 30 minutes whilst listening to lift music then I may have a few suggestions.

Branded,

A good banking relationship is what I'm looking for, a couple of banks that I wouldn't have thought of have been suggested here, so as ever I appreciate the value of the in-the-know WHOers.

Fucking hell, which firm entrusts their banking to a bloke whose investigation into the best bank for 2 million involves asking a load of people he doesn't know on a West Ham United fan website?

I don't mean to be impolite One Flew, but you should be sacked.

A friend works for Rbs, they are soon to be offering all of their business customers money to leave rbs.

They have been given a budget of £750million to get rid of a large number of business accounts. all to do with the fall out of government ownership and them having to break it up.

The strangest thing is they have to then give their accounts to smaller banks, like metro, but where metro bank do not have the backing and infrastructure to cope they have to still do all of the back end and build the system for the bank, they have a £500 million budget for that.

So if you dont mind swapping and changing then go to Rbs and ask them how much they will pay you to leave.

It is starting around the Manchester/Liverpool area but going nationwide

Try one of the new Challenger Banks like Metro Bank - I have a personal account with them and use the Romford or St Pauls branches mainly - open till 8 weekdays and open on Sundays too

No, they are all shit. We turn over about £2m and Nat West make us go through the call centre unless they want to flog us something. Plus bank charges are a joke and we don't even deal in cash.

One flew, go to a smaller bank that is more of a society bank.

Not sure where you are but saffron walden bank or whatever they are, have 14 branches and deal with people individually.

alternatively a bank like Handlesseen,sp, bank, swedish, deal with clients on a personal level.

basically keep away from the main ones that advertise and look off the beaten track a little.
