If Ports eventually becomes a fixture with England hopefully Sam Cook will keep improving, he already looks more than useful.

No doubt England will want him as well...

Agree Porter should with the Lions this winter.

Yep spot on Soldo

Think one our biggest concerns, is potentially losing Silverwood to the England bowling coaching job now Gibsons got the Saffa job

Re: Jamie Porter - Essex
Terry Alderman was never quick.... but he had that ball on a piece of string.... ask Goochy... used to tie him up test in and test out

I think Sven has got it about right although Wood needs to stay fit for the rest of the season.

Re: Jamie Porter - Essex
Being involved with cricket, for over 40 years, worldwide, at a good level, I like to think I know my cricket.
Jamie is a very skilful bowler, knows the game well very methodical, a student of the game, knows his limitations, and eager to keep learning.

As Sven mentioned earlier, the Lions squad this winter is most probably where he will be, but this lad has got all the right tools to definitely step up to test match cricket, no doubts about that.

Lovely kid too, loves the Ammers....

3rd best fast bowler of the last 30 years or Jamie Porter....

Tough one.

Very unlikely that Matt has ever even seen him bowl.

Re: Jamie Porter - Essex
83 mph, yep, far too slow for Australian tracks.

Just ask Glenn McGrath, he wasn't much quicker in his prime, and was down to high 70s towards the end of his career

Re: Jamie Porter - Essex
Yes an 83mph line and length bowler is exactly what England need in Australia....

About 10 ahead of him.

What Sven said. The England Lions will be in the area for the series - Great stats this year, how quick is he? England do like seamers to be, at least, slippery fast medium,

Re: Jamie Porter - Essex
Anderson, Broad, Roland-Jones, Stokes, Woakes & Wood plus Ali & Crane.

His best chance is to be in the shadow squad that England carried around with them in the last Ashes & hope someone gives up like Swann.
