My cousin is an old bill out of barking and he says the same. He's thinking of packing it in becuase he says he can't do any real police work as is too busy sorting out people with mental problems, social services work etc

its taken 2 1/2 years to build the ones theyre finishing now, so if they put spades in the ground tomorrow you'd still be hard pushed to get at the end of 2019.

More social workers now the old bill than actually filth... those cop shows they have on SKY 1 etc are an absolute eye opener... all they deal with is basically mentally unstable people that should not be out on the streets

the problem with ;police is a lack of power, not lack of numbers

has been that way for 15 years or so

utterly impotent. Thankless job nowadays

You're absolutely right- it is Khan and Cressida Dick who is head of the Metropolitan Police. I just looked it up.

He has nothing to do with the 20,000 police officers cut since 2010 though, which can't exactly help matters.

Dick said recently: 'Dick said: “We have probably had a 20% increase [in knife crime in London] in the last year and that is not acceptable to me, so I am encouraging my officers to do stop and search as one of many things that will help to bring this number down.”

Dick said body-worn video would help officers feel more confident about using stop and search and protect them against accusation of racism and unfairness.

“I am very much in favour of stop and search. And I’ve said that to my officers and I want them to feel confident to use it. Now we have body-worn video that helps as well in terms of accountability,” she said.

“Quite often somebody may be upset but when they complain and then they look at the video, they think: ‘Oh yes, well actually I behaved badly. It wasn’t the police officer.’”

Although not their direct responsibility it is the likes of Abbott, Lammy and Butler that scream loudest if targetted SAS is used

Abbott has absolutely no power to change ANYTHING to do with the police.

I think the person you want take up the stop and search debate with is Amber Rudd, the Conservative Home secretary.
