Yeah OK Mart Brentford has been kind enough to point out my error.

I can confirm that Nightingale School was a robust institution, as was Woodbridge.

Such a shame was a beautiful pub. Wasn't it in the good food guide at some point? The one thing I remember from my few occasions I went there on a Fri or Sat was they had the radio on in the pub which I always found a bit odd? Magic fm as well if can remember right? Still was a spotless place and the food always had good reviews. Is the Duke just up the road? I remember it being a bit rough...not rough just not as nice as Nightingale. Had a few lock-ins there after coming out of Nightingale. As said before Golden Fleece still going strong, that was always my local. Get pissed up then go Sagor on High St North or Chans further up. Getting emotional now.......

My old next door neighbours went to Nightingale. Always seemed like a really good school? Good facilities for sports from what I remember. Fuck. Long time ago though!!!

How old are you Joker?
It's been closed for years now.looked like flats to me.
Did it move somewhere?

Rough school, even had a fight with my best mate at the time. Lots of bullies who got sorted out though.

I didn't grow up in the area so didn't go to school round there, but now I have a young daughter we're looking at moving from South Woodford (Oakdale catchment) to the Nightingale Estate (Nightingale catchment). From what I've read/been told Nightingale is a really good school.

That's the Eagle, gavros.
Always been decent.

Doing The Duke up probably finished the 'gale off, although that place is certainly going down the hipster route.

The Toby Carvery is the best put in the area, bar none.

Anyone else go to Nightingale School?
The Manor House is a bit poncy / hipstery but okay for Sunday lunch. The Duke is decent.
We go to The Cuckfield more than the two above though.

Re: Nightingale pub Wanstead R.I.P.
RichyP - make you right.
The Duke top billing now. (along with the Manor House on the high st). Let's just hope someone bails the Nightingale out and keeps it going.
And hope the guvnor gets well soon.

The George will always hold its own. (It was mobbed in there at 10am last Saturday before the front wheel game).

Re: Nightingale pub Wanstead R.I.P.
Richy has got it spot on.

One pub down the road has moved with the times whilst the other one didn't. Location was always going to be an issue. 2 pubs yards from each other and off the beaten track is not a good business model.
