WHO Poll
Q: Manuel Pellegrini
a. A great signing for the Club and maybe the change of direction we all need
b. It will only be a great signing if the Board back him with decent funds
c. This is West Ham so it will only end in farce
d. I'm not sure about this one, I'll wait until SKY is back to hear what Gary Neville thinks, then I'll voice my opinion

Just heard a report on Radio 4 saying they could be in place by the time of the FA Cup Third Round, after successful trials of a system somewhere or other (look, I was driving, so not fully concentrating on radio, and I can't find the online version to fill in the gaps).

Would've been nice if they'd been around to catch the shirt-tug on Arnautovic

Re: Video ref
VAR in the MLS is an abortion, and they still cannot get calls correct even with the replay. Under MLS rules they claim you can only review goals, red cards, mistaken identity, and penalty kicks. The catch is you can review whether any foul (seen or not) should have been a red card, so effectively any time players come together. for goals and penalties, you can review the attacking phase of play (undefined) to go back and call a foul that should have been given to negate the goal. Effectively everything is reviewable.

Check out the 4 minute mark of this video to see VAR in all of it's glory:

In that game there were a total of 3 reviews. The 2 in the first half added 5 minutes of injury time to that half.

That's madness. So trying to point out something the ref has missed results in the player getting a yellow? Crazy.

Also we know it won't apply to anyone wearing a Man U or Chelsea shirt as per most of the other existing similar rules.

Its all here...

VAR is still in the experiment phase and the UK leagues are not part of the experiment.

Yes gph, but it's Tottenham, it still wouldn't have been given.

Re: Video ref
I might be wrong but the ref can only call for a review on something he saw but is not sure about, the Arnie tug wouldn't apply under that scenario as I don't think players or coaches can call for a review, in fact under the rules I saw, making a gesture for a review by a player is to be a yellow card offence
