Redknapp took over Spurs in 2008 when they had just two points from 8 games. He eventually got them up to 8th place at the finish. they even got to the League Cup final but lost it on penalties to ManU.

I don't think that Hodgson will match that.

I think they were talking terms of points. Although 0 goals is a pretty bad stat

Geepers
Dont want to burst your MOD fact bubble but they are talking shite
No one has ever, in the PL, lost all opening 7 games without scoring, they are indeed the worse team in all PL time (since football began allegedly) and it will get worse before better, Chelsea next
Funny enough, they are surrounded by such dross I too think they will survive - the Gods of football gifts will be turning up soon to kick start their season

About half the teams that have started as badly as Palace have, have stayed up (FACT, thanks to MotD).

But, if they keep losing, this (I think amazing) FACT is going to stop being one.

I think Palace will stay up actually.

Re: Palace lose Benteke for 6 weeks
Well its not rocket science is it - you buy strikers to fit your playing style
He excelled at Villa because they did just that, Liverpool gather strikers from previous managers that dont suit the next, Palace bought him then brought in Klopp lite
AC is always injured or at least unfit, a proper Benteke would be ideal for Bilic

I've heard a commentator say that Liverpool were very impressed by Benteke's games against them in a Villa shirt

Funny old club Liverpool they seem to randomly pick up central strikers then rejoice when selling them on at a loss. Carroll, Ballotelli and Benteke come to mind.

Not so long ago quite a few people were on here banging on about how we should have signed Benteke instead of Carroll and what a blunder we'd made.

Truth is that they've both flopped pretty badly. Carroll more through injury whereas Benteke has just never recaptured his excellent Aston Villa for some reason - aside from the odd glimpse.

Liverpool rejoiced when they "lost" him in South London...

Carlton was interviewed pitchside at the spurs match at half time. It was so low key, sadly. Probably due to being 2-0 against the run of play to those wankers.

Had we been winning 2-0, no doubt he would have got a much better response.

Not many at West Ham disliked him, let alone hated him. I'm sure many hated his shooting a lot of the time, and his assists for the oppo, but not the man.

Always believe.

.....Benteke?

Fuck him, with all due respect.

Benteke only has a good season every other year so they probably won't notice he's missing

I think we all know what happens there...

Re: Palace lose Benteke for 6 weeks
Losing Benteke for six weeks is fine. What Palace fans probably want to know is where he's been for the last season and a bit.

Anyway, what do they expect if they only pay a paltry thirty-two million pounds for a player, goals?

Re: Palace lose Benteke for 6 weeks
Has Carlton scored that many ogs?

A quick search reveals that, while playing for Celtic, his was the last touch before the opposition scored one FOR Celtic, and some moron arranged for him to score one on CHAMPIONSHIP MANAGER.

Admittedly, he often did things the wrong way round - here he is going from the ridiculous to the sublime

If he did sign for them a couple of own goals from him could be on the cards.

Carlton Cole.

Never understood why he, of all our shit strikers throughout the ages, was so hated.

We've had two in the past year who were far worse
