The unique sound from his Les Paul comes from the mini humbucker pickup from a Gibson Firebird..or so I've read in one of his books

Hell yes!
I love the way he has two musical faces. The folky one (which i never much got) and then his love stuff with Crazy Horse with the distortion turned up to the max.
It is best when the two collide. the version of Like a Hurricane on Weld is superb.

cough, that tours a few years later. the clip I'm on about, shot by one of the femme brothers, has the band on the same set but near the end of the song two dancers dressed as jawas (star wars characters) come on the stage and start dancing album ng to the tune. Its superb
