Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
If you’ve got or had a Barclaycard they’ve probably put a charge of a quid or two each month on it at some point.
Noticed one on mine and rang up to give them a bollocking as thought I’d got it cancelled ( I had on a DIFFERENT card).
Call centre bloke was all apologetic and said he’d look into it all so got a letter a few weeks later listing all sorts of previous cards and a cheque for £500.
I suspect anyone who has had a credit card who rings up suitably angry can get some free money.
Was pleased with myself until the girlfriend said ‘Oh I did that a while back and got £1200’

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
In my day almost everyone went for a straight repayment mortgage. This was because it was the best/least risky long term bet. Endowment mortgages became common because the people selling them were on hefty commissions to sell them. The miss selling of most of these products was down to a mixture of greed and naïveté.

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
Like many people, I was sold the dream of an endowment mortgage in the 80's, made a claim for mis-selling and got over £3,000 back. Fucking thing was still £13,000 short of the £45,000 loan. As part of the endowment charge was about £11 per month life cover, which looking back was extortionate for a non-smoker, I wrote to them saying they mis-sold this as well as didn't inform me I could have got my own life cover, but they basically told me to fuck off and I couldn't be bothered to pursue it.

You can claim on anything you've ever had. I work in the sector and regularly deal with loans going back to the 80's. I believe colleagues have dealt with stuff going back into the 70's. The bank may have particularly hard time finding any record that's seriously old though but worth a try. The more information you can provide the better but the banks should be able to find most of your financial products just with name, address (including old ones) and DOB details

Better to put the complaint in yourself rather than using a claims management company and avoid them taking a massive cut. They do little more then write a cover letter.

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
Fairly sure any loans I've had were paid off over 6 years ago and the monster one was at least 15 years ago, as thankfully I'm a little more sensible nowadays.

May lob a letter in though, as certainly hurt.

If I weren't so lazy, I should have done it years ago when it all first came out.

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
Grumps - you can claim for missold PPI on any loan that has had activity on it (repayment, interest charge, balance etc) within the last 6 years, regardless of when you took it out.

I don't know about Natwest mortgages specifically Northern, but is something, various banks have done.

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
Nope I wrote off to my lender (NatWest) Westside... fuck going through 23 years of Interest payments on my Mortgage... why is it something normal for Nat West to do then pile it up with PPI charges within Interest payments?? If so I will write to them again calling them Cunts

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
How far can you claim back on, as I've not had a loan for years and aren't with the bank that I had the loans with anymore.

Oh the joy of the day when I got a 20k loan just to go on a monster 6 month piss up, though obviously I didn't tell them it was for alcohol.

Banks used to be atrocious at letting dick heads like me get loans and massive overdrafts without proper checks.

Took me 8 years to pay the cunt off, ha ha.

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
Only had 2 loans... one is the mortgage

So did you check the interest you were/are charged on your mortgage?

Northern Sold 5:52 Thu Oct 12
Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
`so unless you actually checked the interest calculation, you wouldn't know a thing about it`.

Only had 2 loans... one is the mortgage... the other is a £10k one I took out... none on both of those... and my credit cards I pay off each month or failing that I stick them on a 0% card... which has precisely ... 0% of interest so therefore ... No PPI...

Westside 3:32 Thu Oct 12
Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
Some institutions didn't miss - sell PPI, they just didn't tell you about it. Put a higher rate of interest on the credit card or loan, so you didn't see a line on your account which said "PPI cost X". It was all rolled into the interest charges, so unless you actually checked the interest calculation, you wouldn't know a thing about it.

Re: Got a Lloyds Bank account?
I trained up the team in Lloyds who have been taking PPI refund calls for about 4 years. It's a piece of piss to get any of it back. It's your word against the bank and they will take your word every time.
