Mark Noble
Any way back this season? Personally thing we're worse without him - Obiang and Kouyate have gone backwards even though people on here were saying Noble's selection was costing us

To be fair, I can't think of many or even any central midfielders that will beat Sissoko in a sprinting race.

Re: Mark Noble
Sometimes a stint on the side lines isn't a bad thing for players. If they are playing badly they deserve to be dropped. Noble did have a pretty poor start but I think he should come back in now. Drop Hart for Adrian aswell whilst we are at it!

Full Claret

Therein lies the problem with Noble in terms of his pace. He just can't track a runner and the first goal was the prime example. Sissoko and him started level and at the time he scored he was ten yards ahead of Noble.
I don't doubt his commitment for one minute and he played okay last night, wasn't spectacular by any means and there were times when him and Lanzini were so deep first half we had almost five centre halfs and you know that come Saturday he will probably now be playing.
Personally I prefer Kouyate and Obiang, all be it they were both poor against Brighton but I think Noble will keep his place and in fairness he probably deserves it after last night.

"I want to congratulate our team, it's a massive week but we need to stay calm, we have a massive game on Saturday. We will enjoy this tonight, it's a derby win against Tottenham."

He speaks like he's the bloody manager and in charge!

Oh.

Played well and was key to our midfield going forward.
I think we need him for thenmust win games, I hope he starts on Saturday, but may be too much for those old legs

Eerie - Thing is even if you're right about Kouyate morphing from a shit CM to a top class CB, why do you keep going on about it anyway? It's fucking boring and just makes you look like fordstar.

Either way, you aint gonna win here.

Re: Mark Noble
He knows what it means to be West ham and although in my mind he is pretty average and slow (These days) his electricity and leadership may occasionally help to light up the rest of the players .

I think he will be given quite a few games even if as a sub, last night he did well and maybe needs rest to get his taste buds going, as I said not my cup of tea as a player because he only plays well when the team are playing well in my view.

VH, yeah that was my point over the top for the incident but did it to fire them up, we needed it.

There are points in games when you have to go and pick an argument with someone; probably, the more unjust the better, since it wakes people up.

The argument with Rose/Dean/anyone within earshot was one of those moments.

I have no doubt he was the one that ripped them apart at half time today and put some fight in them.

Re: Mark Noble

Totally agree... Noble and Kouyate compliment each other I think... Obiang and Noble doesn't seem to work...

Maybe Noble being there will give Koutate the confidence to go forward more. Problem is we turn it over too quickly so he has to chuck a U-turn too quickly

Re: Mark Noble
At fault for there first goal IMO. Saw the run of Sissoko and that he was free and gave up allowing him an easy tap in. That's not the effort I'd expect from our captain or of someone who wants the manager to keep his job.

Re: Mark Noble
His little tantrum about them knocking the ball back to Adrian seemed to spark us into life, it was a completely over the top reaction but was obviously just trying to fire us up.

Agree lily. What he brings to the team is extremely important.

Re: Mark Noble
That was a captain's performance. Until we get several better midfielders, Noble has to start.

'My memory is pretty shot tbf and I'm far to lazy to check but every top performance I can remember whether we won or not in the last three years has had Noble and kouyate playing with Lanzini at No 10.'

I think it's fair to say your memory is more than shot if you are not aware that our best performances over the last 3 Years were pretty much solely down to 1 man. I'll give you some grace to work that out for yourself
