Bilic speaks on sacking
“I’m sad, disappointed, but not in the club. “No hard feelings. Especially when the time goes by I’m very proud of my work here.

“No hard feeling with the chairman at all to be fair.

“We had a good or great first season. “We knew the difficulties we had last season, finished middle of the table.

“It was more than just a job to me, it was personal”

“This season we didn’t make the step from the start.

“The manager pays the price.

“That doesn’t mean I don’t understand the move the club made, it’s a logical move.

“I felt the fans until the end. It was more than just a job to me, it was personal.

“The first game, a team from Andorra, it was a full house, You have to respect that.

“I need to [go] now before I cry!”

If that's true it only confirms what I said a couple of weeks ago, that Bilic needed the same advice Fergie gave Pearson if he were going to turn things around, which was "Stop being so calm and cool and get angry, show them you care."

If you remember, Pearson was always cool as things got worse, saying how he and his players would not panic, etc etc. After that talk with Ferguson is when he turned into a right bastard, bitying the heads off journos and probably biting the heads off a few players in training.

I don't think Bilic had that in him, so it's sad he didn't have a partner to play a proper bad cop, to match his good cop character. His whole coaching team were either Ned Flanders nice, or old codgers from some kind of a cold war spy movie, and Dicksie, who does not coach like he tackled.

Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
Bilic apparently rang round a few of the players after his dismissal to ask them where they thought he had gone wrong.

Consensus was lack of discipline and work ethic... basically Bilic was too nice. Didn't penalise players for turning up late for training etc..

Great shame, as he has shown by this how much he cared. What Bilic needed was a sargeant major type to instill some discipline... should have been Julian's job but I guess he was too busy being late himself.

One silver lining is that at least this is an area that Moyes will surely get right.

Grant < Roeder < Allardyce < Bilic.

I reckon Moyes will fit between Roeder and Allardyce.

The best points per game ratio of any West Ham manager since Lyall.

Don’t let silly things like facts get in the way though eh?

Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
That first season with him was for me the most enjoyable for a decade or so, we turned all the big boys over, and that final game at our true home will never leave me. Always conducted himself with respect and integrity and was someone who understood the club. Shame it didn't work out in the end, him going was the right decision but thank you for the good times Slaven

Sold0 - You really are an embarrassment. What makes you think you are so special escapes me, it really does. And as Swindon says, you will be praying we go down now, and you are no doubt going to be more unbearable than ever on here now.

Useless Cunt should have been sacked last summer.
Totally and utterly useless oaf.
Goodbye and good riddance

Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
Bilic's pretty good overall record is so skewed towards the early days that his team looked to be in an unstoppable downward spiral.

I've gradually become convinced that it's coaching that's at the heart. Bilic is probably quite good at tactics. He certainly seemed to be in that first season.

But whatever tactics you have, they will look poor if the players aren't well-coached. As time has gone on, Allardyce's coaching has faded from the players' memories, new players have come in and not been properly integrated into the team, and we've looked more and more amateurish.

Bilic + a decent coach will probably do very well elsewhere.

But I'm shit at this sort of thing, so I'll probably get torn to shreds here.

Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
Bilic had to go. But the Dildo's made sure he failed. Bilic rightly turned down a number of suggested signings in the summer. None are tearing up trees in their new homes. Bilic wrongly placed his faith in the likes of Arnautovic, but, we do not know what alternatives were sought or offered, same as last years "investments". Zaza may have been a world-beater but the deal done for his services could only have had more pressure if someone had paid £100m+ for him at his standard. Carvalho seems to have been the final nail. Would he have added the desired speed and guile? no. Would he allowed us to utilise the speed (Antonio) or guile (Lanzini) to it's full potential? absolutely.
Bilic did not do a pikey deal to get the first three games played away and losing becomes habitual.
I wish him well. He made mistakes but nowhere near the crippling, no ambition, short term crap that has been served up by the owners.

Macca,

I have nothing to prove mate.

Just want my club to do well and I spent a lot of money on Saturday witnessing another abject performance so I am well within my rights to question that.

I think you peaked earlier, Swindon son.

Not sure you have anything else to prove?

Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
Stadium: fine.

Spending: awful... But the money IS there. The tight fuckers don't want to spend it.

1/2 is not bad.

Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
Bilic seemed to finally getting it to me. 352 is clearly our strongest formation. Lanzini was correctly playing through the middle and we were playing some decent stuff at times. Some of the football away at Burnley was superb. He just took so long to get to this point. What on earth was the 424 ?!

As said earlier you can forget the Lanzini/Hernández link up playing under Moyes. Expect to see Ginge and Creswell pumping it up to Carroll.

swindon hammer 11:05 Mon Nov 6
Re: Bilic speaks on sacking
yep I have changed my mind. Bilic should stay as he was doing a good job and the players have really been fighting for him.

It's no disgrace being in the bottom 3 with an awful goal difference when you only have shit like Hart, Cresswell, Reid, Zabaleta, Kouyate, Antonio, Lanzini, Arnatovic and Hernandez in your squad.

How can we compete with the likes of Burnley, Watford, Huddersfield and Brighton with the players they have?
