Was out on a pub crawl the Friday night before and completely forgot I had tickets for this match. Turned up with the worst hangover thinking why did I bother, turned out to be a classic match.
Remember Moncur scoring a blinder and then giving a stupid penalty away minutes later.

Flew in from Sweden for this one....me and my 6 year old son were not dissapointed, crazy match with 9 goals and loads of drama... we both had no voices left for several days after. Probably too many renditions of 'the referees a wanker'

One thing about PDC... it may have been shit some of the time... but it was NEVER boring... an absolute and utter showman... and I'm so glad that I was there to see most of his brilliance and his tantrums...

I have the game on DVD. Took a friends son to the game and got him a number of the players autographs before the game including Rio and Lampard. Highlights Di Canio sitting down after two pens not given, the tug of war with Lampard over who was taking the pen and then the winning goal by Lampard. My friends son asked afterwards is it always like this!

Re: West Ham 5 - Bradford 4
He also demanded to be substituted at Derby, again because he thought the ref wasn't protecting him. He was right about that, but his reaction stinks.

Can't imagine Brooking doing that, and there were games where he was kicked.

This was the ONLY time when we have been behind that I just knew we were going to win.I'll never know why but I did,we became so dominante attacking in wave after wave.Di Canio would drive me nuts one minute then I wanted to have his babies the next.Great game that one.

Re: West Ham 5 - Bradford 4
Google ‘Di Canio demands to be substituted’ and there is a version of the highlights that shows him indicating he wants to come off and then down on his haunches near the bench as the game goes on.
There are at least two absolute stonewall penalties that he should have got in those highlights.

I remember driving back from playing football and hearing that we were 4-2 down I think so went into Sainsbury to grab some dinner a tad pissed off that we were losing,. Quick trip around the store and back to the car where the radio put through the 5-4 score line! Wish I had been there especially to witness Lampard and Di Canio arguing about who was going to take the penalty!!

Is it true that Di Canio got the hump and was sitting down pleading to be substituted or is that just one of Harry's stories that are not quite the truth?

Shaka came out to kick a ball clear and think it was Dean Saunders that left his foot in
Enter Bywater
He is still playing for someone ..:: Burton maybe?

Re: West Ham 5 - Bradford 4
We should have scored about 12 that day
And Bywater let in every ball that came within 10 yds of his goal
As said DiCanio could have had multiple pens and the ref obviously wasn’t giving him one unless he was raped in a tackle

Re: West Ham 5 - Bradford 4
These were the days when having Harry in charge could be a joy!

Di canio should have had about 4 penalties in that game, it was absurd

Didn't we concede 4 goals at home in three successive games with 3 different keepers including this game? Arsenal and Everton as well, one with bloody ilic in goal?

Re: West Ham 5 - Bradford 4
I was there and have seen that several times since. Amazing game and how the ref didn't give pens for the fouls on DiCanio I'll never know. Yet he gave a fairly soft one for Bradford!

I sometimes wonder if refs have money riding on games. The way they make mistakes is just too incredible to be otherwise unless they really are blind and deaf imho

Re: West Ham 5 - Bradford 4
Incredible how much we had to protect Bywater, and still appeared to win with ease, despite the scoreline.

Back in the days when we used to give away goals for fun, and just go up the other end and score more.

Only the bit after the comma has changed...

Took an Aussie bird from work and she actually cried at the emotion of it all, with all of the ebbing and flowing.

She had fucking amazing norks and unfortunately I never did.
