WHO Poll
Q: 2018/19 Wolves (H)
a. At last we have a win now let's make it two, Win
b. A win against 10 men and two leagues below us is fine, but this will be much harder I'll take a point, Draw
c. Who are we kidding, a win against Wimbledon and all is rosy, forget it we're getting our arses kicked in this one, Lose
d. It's at times like these when you really do miss Love Island
e. I was all over this game until I found out it's not on the box, the broadcasting companies really don't care about us hard core fans do they, I might pop off to Thorpe Park for the day instead, obviously in my WHU shirt

5 of us from east London/ Essex went down to Brighton in a car, had no tickets, ended up paying £35 each for £5 tickets. That was about half a week's wages for me at the time.

Got into the soundcheck, went for a beer then back for the gig. The gig was one of the worse I ever saw them play, but I don't think anything would have lived up to the enormity of the occasion.

Someone threw a bottle at Buckler, Foxton lectured the crowd about that wasn't what the Jam was about, Weller said, 'Rick said thanks for the bottle'.

All of a sudden it was over and it was like is that all there is

Having said that a shit Jam gig still pissed over most other bands and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Bill... all our lot (who were massive Jam, fans) all said the same that we hope he never tries to reform with the other 2... to be honest they don't need him... Hastings does a superb job as lead man... much rather him... if you not seen them you'd be pleasantly surprised.

Re: ... 35 years ago today

we are wasting our time hoping he will reform (even as a one off) he never would....

And if he did - he'd insist on singing them in his voice/arrangement.

What gets me is - he wouldn't still be making a living it weren't for the fans back then and he repays them how?

Bill... From the Jam were superb with Foxton, Rick and Hastings.... all our lot are on the DVD they brought out a few years back... saw them 5 or 6 times and every night was superb... Weller can go and do one... app' only ones he played that got the crowd going was Peacock Suit, From the Clouds and Changing man... yeah plug your new album but don't play the thing from start to finish... we bumped into Weller's bass player after at a Mod Club (Almost Grown) later on that night... he even agreed with us he's so far up his own arse nowadays it's embarrassing

Re: ... 35 years ago today

He does play Jam and TSC stuff but even when he does he sings in that naff yank accent these days....

Heard him sing Saturdays Kids a while back but it might as well have been someone else for all it sounded nothing like the original!

Think I'd rather listen to a tribute band or Foxton if I wanted a proper blast from the past!
