Agreed. Not sure what's going on. Surely Moyes has the players in mind and the board working on getting them. That may be happening I admit, but it does seem that we do get ourselves entangled with transfers and we do business very slowly.

I am all for ensuring we get value for money and don't get massively ripped off but I also feel that there should be an element of throwing caution to the wind.

If they had just paid what Lisbon wanted instead of entering into a game of offer tennis then we'd have him and we would be in a much better state at this point.

I now fear the Dendonker deal will also slow up and either come to nothing or other sharks will start circling and we end up losing out to a bigger fish.

We need to be more decisive. Get your interest in. Listen to the valuation. Make a fair and proportionate offer and see what comes back. If they play hard ball then just pay what they want.

We first knew of the Dendonker deal a couple of weeks ago now and yet nothing. And as you say 18 days in why are targets not being landed? Surely Moyes knows who he wants and we should just be going out and getting them.

Problem is does it come down to the board not wanting to spend money. They have invested pretty well in the past but when it comes to the point where you really have to put your money where your mouth is they seem a little hesitant.

We are in a position where we can actually still salvage European football from this season. I don't know how but we are. They should be looking to take advantage of that and getting in the players to push us to around middle of top half.

They said 'Next Level'. They had this summer to prove it and let us down. Are they going to do it again?

Probably Bournemouth after we've given them 15m for Arter!

Inside Futbol-
Anderlecht are prepared to accept a much lower fee than previously anticipated for West Ham midfield target Leander Dendoncker, it has been claimed. ... L'Avenir, the Belgian giants have reduced their financial demands and could accept a transfer fee around the 15m mark for Dendoncker in January.

Apparantly Anderlecht are desperate for funds in this window and need to sell... just watch Sullivan dither and let someone else step in at the last moment!

Everton, nailed on.

Re: The transfer window thread
I'd still like to know why Moyes has moaned from the moment he came in about the need for new players and 18 days into the window we've done zero business, look like we are know where near bringing anyone in while it looks 1-3 maybe going. Like i have said before this is Sullivan being his normal tight self. Wish he'd fuck off and die.

Samuelsen heads to Championship side Burton on loan

West Ham United youngster Martin Samuelsen has joined Championship side Burton Albion on loan for the rest of the 2017/18 season.

The 20-year-old midfielder will begin his second loan spell in English football’s second tier, having spent three months of last season on loan at Blackburn Rovers.

Burton have only been a Football League side for nine years but have already risen up to the Championship and are in their second consecutive season at that level.

Nigel Clough’s side are looking to pull clear of the relegation zone and have called upon Samuelsen ahead of their trip to Fulham on Saturday.

Samuelsen linked up with the Hammers’ Academy in 2015 and has made great strides during his time in east London, appearing in two UEFA Europa League qualifiers in his debut season and going on to make his full Norway debut in 2016.

Alongside his loan at Blackburn, he has also made 28 Football League appearances across two loan spells with Peterborough United.

Amazing isn't it. Top 10 European attendance figures, top 10 European revenue per fan. Around the 15th richest European club yet there's no money.

Re: The transfer window thread
depends how it's made up ludo, he could easily earn a large bonus just for being selected on the bench. It was a way of getting round AC's highest paid earner clause, apparently.

Re: The transfer window thread
IIRC that's not a clear reflection as our figure applies to basic wage and we have many players who are on salaries tat are made up of bonuses and appearance fees which don't get calculated by the likes ofdeloitte when they do their yearly comparison. Hernadez, for instance, is on something like 70/8ok with the rest made up to around 115/120k in additional bonuses, supposedly..

Re: The transfer window thread
Trev

2016-17 wage bills

West Ham 95m
Everton 106m

it goes up 4m a year but they would have had a higher starting point than ours

Plus their new owner has got them big new sponsorship
