The demise of house parties.
Been invited to one on New Year's Eve and it struck me the last party I was at was one I threw for my birthday in my late 20s.(28?)

Remember going to one or two a month in my late teens/early 20s.

My daughter and her friends just used to take it in turns to go to each other's houses and play video games or dungeons and dragons.

Are they just not a 'thing' these days or am I just unliked?

Re: The demise of house parties.
Well that went well.... after 4 hours of pissed up 15/16 year olds kicking the fuck out of my bedroom door and the bathroom door the final straw was sitting there on the bog and a kid chucking up between the gap in the door and splashing it up my feet ... I imagine by the lovely red colour he'd drunk maybe 2 cans of fruit strongbows... I grabbed the bog roll... opened the door... and shoved it in his pissed up acne ridden face and told him to clear it up...

I'm now up the Holiday Inn.... on me jack

The autocorrect function on my new phone is quite annoying and persistent but these occasional gems make it worthwhile.

Is that a cosh in Sold's hand, or is he just really pleased to see his daughter's pals...? :-)

(Autocorrect tried to change 'cosh' to Cosby)

It's an age thing, I stopped going to them when I was 25. My mrs goes to one every week, there is always someone in her social circle having one

It’s a young mans game , joe, and that isn’t you any more SON

You should be going to dinner parties and talking about Brexit , local schools and house prices.

Re: The demise of house parties.
Just to be clear , this is about house parties in general not NYE parties.

I usually just go to the prince - like most days.

Re: The demise of house parties.
I always found that the mates who were boozers would rather go to the pub and the mob that liked their drugs would rather have a house party.

Only ever been to one New Years party and that was 1999 and done because most places were taking the piss money wise.

No different to midnight tonight for me, I'm going to the Backyard Comedy club Sunday and that will do me. Anyone trying to sing Auld Lang Syne to me may well be glassed ;o)

NYE is never a good night out.

I shall be spending it on my own in Heathrow airport waiting for an early flight on.NYD.

That'll do me.
