Hammer of the Year
Shit season so far with recent shoots of recovery.
If we handed out the award now who gets it?

Re: Hammer of the Year
You have to give the reward to a player who's shaped or transformed the season.

That looks to be Arnautovic - the way things are going - so he's got to be the main or only real contender at the moment.

Adrian for the sheer enthusiasm. Love his attitude and love of the badge.

Lanzini is our most naturally gifted player by a distance.
For me Adrian deserves it,he's fought hard to earn he's place back In the starting 11 hasn't put a foot wrong.he's as good if not better than any keeper in the league.

Re: Hammer of the Year
As I've said already; Arnautovic should win it comfortably if he continues playing as well as he currently is for the rest of the season.

Why wouldn't he? Who could possibly challenge him for it when we've been fucking awful for much of the season? So many underperforming and/or past-it players.

No-one else would come close.

Re: Hammer of the Year
I believe it should be Adrian. He has everything we love about a player.

Assuming he doesn't implode Arnautovic will probably take it as we also love a nutcase that creates and scores.

Neither would disappoint me if they won it.

Over the season so far Zabaletta by a country mile.

But if Arnie keeps up this form for the rest of the season then he might sneak it.

Arnie just staking more of a claim for me after today.

I'd say this is my current rankings

Zabaleta - 40 %
Arnautovic - 25%
Masuaku - 20%
Rice - 5%
Adrian - 5%
Ogbonna 5%

Re: Hammer of the Year
Scorch - I read that, and it seems insistent that the improvement of Arnautovic under Moyes is down to the managers' instructions.

But I find it difficult to believe that Bilic instructed Arnautovic to refrain from tracking back, for example.

The improvement must be more about motivation.

Zabaleta by a mile at the moment
Noble has not played enough.
Masuaku is a contender, but as good as he is going forward has been disappointing in defense.
The rest are way off behind

Noble for me because he is West Ham

Re: Hammer of the Year
If Arnie has another great five months then I'd give it to him.

There are literally not many contenders at all.

Zabaletta has tried very hard but he's on his last legs and way past his best. Masuaku has had some decent games at times. Our centre-backs have all been erratic. Our midfield has been consistently poor.

In short, it's been a fucking rotten season. Yet again.

Hammer of the Half Season, then.

Whichever way you slice it, the word 'Year' is inappropriate.

Re: Hammer of the SEASON, surely.
Except it doesn't really does it? It is what happens from now until the end of season that matters...

Ronald_antly 9:11 Sat Jan 6
Hammer of the SEASON, surely.
After all, it spans two different years, and only lasts 9 months.

So much chopping and changing makes it more difficult than usual , Adrian just shades it for me as things stand
