True bernie. Difficult not to like the film just for the last 20 minutes.

Bohemian Rhapsody is GOOD. The live aid scene's were fucking superb.

Obvs you need to like Queen a bit, the way they integrated the music into the film was really good.

Re: 2018 Movies
Anyway back to original theme of the thread rather than a Queen debate.

I saw Extinction 2018 last night. Thought it was pretty good and a nice twist.

Well for me it was Bananarama but each to their own...

Re: 2018 Movies
I have some sympathy with the view that they werent massively influential as their musical style was idiosyncratic and Mercury so charismatic (which is why he's a legend) but if Live Aid was the defining moment of stadium rock and Queen were the standout band at that event, then that surely goes for something.

I'm with Swiss on this... they were okish for me.. I certainly never ever got goose bumps listening to any of their stuff... but each to their own... I mean radio Ga Ga... on par with Love Me Do that one...

I think Queen influenced a lot of gay men to grow 'tasches...

I'm not saying they influenced a style of music, but plenty of musicians list Queen as an influence in getting into music, and Muse certainly owe Queen a pint or two.

where do you get this cabaret shit? May was one of the best rock guitarists ever, they also played to hundreds of thousands of people (200,000 at knebworth). stop talking bollocks

I agree that Queen were massive and were serious musicians, but I'm not sure they actually ever influenced anyone very much.

Oooh I've upset Trevor (Liza Minnelli) B and the official Queen fan club.

Re: 2018 Movies
Is Swiss ever right about anything? Like them or not, Queen were a massive force in music and influenced fuck loads of other bands.

Anyone saying they weren't serious musicians is a bit of a dullard really, the sort of prick that tells you the Beatles were shit and everyone else is wrong.

Please show me where I said you had to take Queen seriously?

Any credibility you build up is immediately lost every time you lie, which seems to be fairly often mate.

You don't have to take anyone seriously, just listen to music and enjoy it, or don't, enjoyment isn't complicated no matter how hard to try to make it.

Fuck all wrong with Queen, you don't have to like them obviously, did Freddie touch you in a bad place or something?

It's not about issues it's about taste which you obviously don't have. After all you're the one telling me I ave to take Queen seriously.

Seriously?

I think you've got the issues.

Know Rami Malek (Snafu) obviously is ... whose the other one??

Joseph Francis Mazzello III is an American actor, director, and screenwriter. He is best known for his roles as Tim Murphy in Jurassic Park, Eugene Sledge in the HBO miniseries The Pacific,

Yeah I know the bloke... I got Sledge's book at home... he was best mates with rami malek's character (Snafu)

Re: 2018 Movies
Jesus why can't you just listen to music for enjoyment rather than trying to make out like you are some sort of expert and designating it as serious or not?

Fuck me Swiss, I'm glad I don't have your issues! lol

Gavros 6:04 Tue Nov 20
Re: 2018 Movies
of course not.

but the biggest band in the world? Yes.

Similarly with Michael Jackson and Madonna, and Britney for that matter.

Re: 2018 Movies
Agree it is the poppy side of rock. But even pop has to be taken seriously.
