Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
One of the goals of the process is apparently to protect the INTEGRITY of the referees

Will have to get some first

Johnson,

You’re confused about how it works. I’d explain it, but I can’t be arsed.

Should be ideal when VARdy starts diving about for the penalties.

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
It’s a GOAL
It’s reviewed.
The impression BT gave is that the VAR looked at the pictures which put the lines across the pitch to rule out offside only
Graham Poll didn’t contradict that

Poll didn’t TRY and give 3 yellow cards. He DID give a Croatia player 3 yellows before sending him off. He then ruled out Mark Vidukas winning goal at the end as he said he’d blown his whistle. He hadn’t

I always understood that it was a condition of being in the FA that you had to enter a team in the Challenge Cup.

Manchester United had to formally ask for permission to swerve it, even though, if I remember correctly, it was the FA themselves who put Manchester United up to play in was was seen as a world-class (whatever the fuck that means) equivalent of the FA Cup (= more freebie 5-star travel for the suits).

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
What part of the VAR didn’t look at that angle and the ref didn’t ask them for any kind of review are you lot struggling with?

It wasn’t even hand ball anyway.

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
Don't know how Graham Poll has any expertise, didn't he try to give a player 3 yellow cards once?

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
Asked by who?
The VAR looks at GOALS and decides if they are valid.
He looks at offside and any other reason to rule it out.
The things to look at would have been offside by the player who heads it , offside of Murray and is there any illegality as to how the ball gets in the net

Point remains, it’s a bit fucking stupid to have it, and not use it.

Who didn’t ask?

Johnson 11:35 Mon Jan 8
Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
They didn’t guess, they weren’t asked to look at it.

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
Graham Poll sweating a bit there trying to convince everyone they guessed right.

People have a pop at women presenting football, but she is spot on here. Without looking at the best angle, they’re guessing.

Do clubs HAVE to enter the FA Cup?

I suppose not, didn't Man U sack it off a few years back?

Would love Murray to say that it hit his arm.
He reckons it hit his knee. Or his hip.

One of the two. Maybe.

Sven Roeder 11:25 Mon Jan 8
Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
Murray throws himself at the ball to try and block it in.
He holds his right arm like that to cover the ball and bundle it in if needed .... so there is intent
Did it touch his arm?
Don’t know cos the idiot Swarbrick didn’t think it was worth looking at

Ha ha . Same old story. Idiot refs checking on idiot refs having no idea what they are looking at.

VAR is probably switched off to save the club money.

They didn’t check the VAR

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
Why are they arguing with the ref? Isn’t that the point of VAR?

Re: Brighton v Crystal Palace (featuring VAR)
PP offered Brighton and both teams to score at 13/2 today.

Really pleased I ignored it!!! :o(
