So imagine your teachers in secondary, junior and infants schools. Now try to imagine which 20% of them you’d want armed.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
He is seriously going to push for armed Teachers
Look at Trump's body language and the expression on his face when the AG of Indiana explains the defensive measures they are going to take in schools and Trump then dismiss the idea in favour of armed teachers.

The despicable one also says school shootings will continue unless teachers are armed

Yes, an archaic law that neither the Democrats or the Republicans will seriously try to amend.on their own. Would have to be bi-partisan legislation for equal political fallout

The gun laws in USA are stupid but it's their business. However if Trump really is so up the NRA arse that he can't ban assault weapons then he is truly fucked for the future...

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
the let teachers carry a gun idea might last as long as it takes for a teacher to lose it and shoot one of their pupils.

so that'd be about a week.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
Wayne LaPierre, a leading NRA lobbyist said, among other things today " "They hate the NRA. They hate the second amendment. They hate individual freedom".

So I wonder what Mr LaPiere's opinion is regarding the rights of those students who were slaughtered last week. Did they have a right that included the government of their country keeping safe to go to college etc?

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
Don't get me wrong, laws should be enforced properly and if they're not then that needs serious looking at (just like immigration laws....), but when folk say "gun control" at times like this then 99% of the time they mean "gun ban" or something else really vague which would be completely unworkable and/or ineffective.

Here in Arizona - I can buy a gun and ammo (at the same time) in my local Walmart.

Many States have laws on the books about pre-checks and qualifications for buying guns. But the NRA lobby has been successful in having the authorities not enforce those laws.
Also it seems that a gun-show is the best place to buy a gun if you dont want a background check to take place.
Even the laws around gun control that we have here in US - are just not being enforced.

You sound almost hopeful?

PS; there already is "gun control", laws vary state by state and county by county. All guns are not 100% legal for everyone absolutely everywhere. Please don't bother pretending to have known that.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
There are a few asking why teachers should also act as armed bodyguards; Trump seems to have completely overlooked that thought.

What a desperate human being he is. Yesterday he needed notes (photos available) to hold a listening session with teenagers.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
Irrespective of whomsoever is the POTUS there will be no substantive moves towards gun control unless or until there are regular gunfire massacres of the establishment and their children instead of random massacres of schoolkids or open air free concert goers.

Teachers' desks should be converted into machine gun nests.

Help sort the problem of sarky kids, too.
