Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released

It’s like politics for mugs with you lot isn’t it. It sounds feasible, but doesn’t really add up if you even a modest understanding of what has actually gone on.

It’s like Mary trying to revise history about trump and Charlottesville.

The US created 3 million jobs in 2014 alone, which shows claims that tax cuts are a miracle solution are naive at best and utter bullshit at worse.

So, rocket scientist - why have we seen no better job growth under Trump than Obama?

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
... because Trump’s fiscal loosening coincided with a time of quantitative easing and relatively high demand in the world economy.

Point is, Trump is a blagger and the people who believe in his economic miracle fools about to get slammed by a double whammy of rising interest rates and inflation.

Fucking MAGA

"Trump has done nothing to increase jobs... I mean he brought in several policies which I admit specifically encouraged companies to employ more people.... but this is entirely up to the companies and nothing to do with Trump"

So his policies have created jobs then.

Cheers. Have a good weekend.

Where have denied that there has been growth?

Trump's policies have been to cut corporate taxes and deregulate and this, together with low interest rates has given companies access to a great deal of immediate liquidity. So it has been companies willing to take the risk to employ and develop that have created those jobs. Not Trump.

And the problem is, it is Trump's direct policies that increasing the costs born by those same companies in the form of tariff payments levied as part of his trade war with China. The initial growth is now beginning to peter out, and still precious little has been created in the traditional manufacturing sectors Trump claimed his policies would make great again while falsely blaming the Democrats for their destruction.

It is one thing to spur growth with tax cuts and deregulation for two years, and quite another to build the basis for economic health for decades to come.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
here’s where President Trump’s pro-growth policies come into play.

The current stretch in increased manufacturing employment started in November, 2016—the month of Trump’s election. Employers, especially those faced with making long-term investments in physical plants and equipment, anticipated regulatory relief under Trump.

They got the relief they hoped for.

By October 2018, the Trump Administration cut 2.7 major regulations for every one added, greatly reducing regulatory cost and risk.

In addition, the tax cuts signed into law in December 2017 not only reduced corporate tax rates, encouraging investment, they also incentivized U.S.-based multinational corporations to bring home profits held overseas.

In the first nine months of 2018, these firms repatriated $571.3 billion—money needed for job-creating investment at home, but had been held in foreign countries because America had the highest corporate tax rate in the industrialized world.

Trump’s pro-growth policies appear to be all the magic the manufacturing sector needed

The manufacturing jobs created are not thanks to Trump's policies as I have demonstrated and expressed in a more detailed analysis in this article

I’m not a fan of trump the man but I am a fan of lower taxes. People whine about “Big bad corporations” benefitting from this, which is true to a large extent, but I work for one and this year I had my first decent pay rise in years, we are employing more people, and investing in improvements. I also enjoy more money in my pay packet

I am leery of the far left who claim that marginal tax rates need to be substantially higher? Why? What are they going to do with the money with they dock from my pay packet? Too many vague policies to “benefit the poor and middle class”. Do they mean they will provide guaranteed income to those who lose their jobs due to higher taxes? that after they cream off the top to pay for their own pet projects and deliver for those lobbyists who dontate? We actually have the lowest unemployment in decades, why would we jeapoardise that by electing ideologically extreme candidates to office?

As I said, Trump offends many people on many levels, but the sky hasn’t exactly fallen during his presidency, and we need to be careful what we wish for.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
The facts are the traditional manufacturing jobs lost to relocation to the Far East have remained lost. Theses are also the jobs Trump promised to create and Obama did not. Meanwhile, any gains made would have taken place under any president as they are in the new, innovation rich industries like the Tesla battery factory in Nevada.

So Kenneth, as I suspected, you are White Man who speak with forked tongue.

Kenneth

You seem to be suggesting there was something about Obama's policies that was preventing US manufacturers from employing which Trump has put right.

If so, might you be so kind as to enlighten this board as to what exactly those policies are?

Manufacturing jobs have increased more than 6 times under Trump than Obama’s last two years, who was quoted as saying manufacturing jobs “are just not going to come back.”

And Obama inherited an economy on the verge of systemic collapse while Trump inherited one that was setting records for years of sustained growth.

He has also had the gop pass tax cuts that have not been paid for. I’m sure you were wailing loudly over the national debt during the Obama years.

You are so full of shit on so many fronts FSL. Pretty much everything you say falls down under the slightest breath of reality.

Re: Fusion GPS testimony on Trump released
It’s odd that people talking crap about those Democrat congresswomen being communists also quite obviously haven’t got a clue about how companies work and jobs are created in the economy. They betray themselves every time with this absurd claim Trump has created jobs.

Chill - You should be rejoicing at the success of the USA economy and how many jobs Donald has created!
