Spartak Moscow's not very PC tweet
Fifa has condemned a racially-charged tweet by Russian champions Spartak Moscow which again spotlighted concerns about racism in this year's World Cup host nation.

In a short video published on their Twitter account on Saturday, the club showed three black players, including Brazilian striker Luiz Adriano, doing drills at a training camp in Dubai.

"Look at how the chocolates are melting under the sun," the video's caption said.

"Fifa condemns the message published on the Twitter account of Spartak Moscow," read an emailed statement to Reuters.

Benny Hill's Chinese restaurant gag ("Waiter, this chicken is bloody rubbery"
- "Fankoo velly much sah" ,) remains the greatest joke of all time.

90% of his stuff was embarrassing nonsense though.

Oxsaw, it's mainly visual humour, which is easy to grasp, I agree the mechanics of his humour is exquisite

Benny Hill's humour is far from simple, but perhaps it's delivery in an end-of-the-pier vaudeville style threw you off.

"Apart from that, it’s factually inaccurate as people with brown skin are obviously designed to withstand the sun better than pasty skinned people."

Really?

Re: Spartak Moscow's not very PC tweet
It's obviously not intentional racism. It means, 'look, our players are training so hard that even the black ones are sweating hard'.

It really shouldn't come as much of a surprise to hear that Eastern Europe in general and Russia in particular is a last bastion of racism and that unconscious racism is rife. The correct approach here is to point out this unconscious racism, to rebuke it and to consider the matter closed

Proper outrage should be reserved for more inflammatory stuff. Unless we believe that, like rape, every single instance of racism is just as serious as every other.

Always helps to remember how popular Benny Hill was around the world when assessing the sophistication (or otherwise) of various nation's humour.

The outrage over well meaning adverts by Dove and H&M have been completely over the top, but there is nothing innocent or well meaning about this stupid comment. The sort of thing that Trump would tweet.

Apart from that, it’s factually inaccurate as people with brown skin are obviously designed to withstand the sun better than pasty skinned people.

Leaving aside the racism, what a childish comment that is. It's primary school playground level of 'humour'.
