Football has lost the plot
Well Man Utd have. Apparently they're going to be paying Sanchez £560.000 a week, just under £27 MILLION a year before tax. £180 MILLION for the term of his contract.

Even Man City balked at the greedy cunts demands and walked away from the negotiations.

I can only hope the cunt has a career ending injury some time soon.

And yet another good reason to despise the red scum.

Are you seriously comparing one live match a week if we were lucky to what’s produced now? That’s ridiculous.

Yep. It was one game everyone could watch. I cannot believe anyone would want to put any money in Sky's bank account, they have ruined top level football. Sanchez to Man Utd for £27m a year proves that.

I pay €25 per month in Cyprus for the whole Sky, BT package & some extra channels. It is approx 4x that for the same thing in the U.K.!

I get sky sports for £16 a month .watch endless live sport day in day out. How much to go to one West Ham game ?

Re: Football has lost the plot
They couldn’t have outbid Sky for the rights. It works out at £11m a game. No chance. Plus they haven’t got the channel space to dedicate all that goes with it. As if the BBC could write off that amount of the licence payer’s money.

What do you mean 'of course they couldn't?'

Re: Football has lost the plot
Of course they couldn’t!

They share the World Cup because that has to be shown on terrestrial television. And rightly so.

Re: Football has lost the plot
BBC and ITV could have easily outbid Sky in the fist place, if they had joined forces like they do for the Euro/WC, but they refused.

We can have free football TV, they would still make loads of money from advertising, and I mean loads, as viewing numbers would be even higher.

It is not about not paying or not going as a protest.

We need to demand fair pricing for everyone, people that go and people that watch on TV.

We make it popular as we have interest to see football. They have a kind of monopoly and explot us. We should demand that the exploitation is illegal and that fair pricing is ensured.

Bruno, whats the German model?

Re: Football has lost the plot
The funny thing is that there was a campaign a few years ago to ensure that the football rights were shared around instead of Sky having a monopoly on it and all that resulted in was people having to take out an additional subscription with Setanta/BT Sport to watch all the games available.

Basically, the public moaned and the outcome was that we were all hit in the pocket more. That was a great move!

I was simply pointing out WHY Sky can pay an absolute fortune for the rights to televise games.

If "the man in the street" didn't lob in HIS good value 25 notes, they couldn't do it.

"Fuck modern football, it costs an absolute fortune and the players are all, to a man, bigger shitcunts than they ever were in my youth.

You are not allowed to tackle. Some people would like to ban heading, The players are all a bunch of cheating cunts.
The best you can ever hope for is mid table obscurity unless some Arab chucks half his country's GDP at it.
The referee isn't allowed to make a cock up every once in a while.
The national team can't beat Iceland.
The FA Cup is now less important than a run out for for the reserves. Women's football makes it to the radio news, I mean more people watch non league games every weekend than are interested in that shit and it's rammed down our throats".

*gives Lower a cuddle*

You're spot on, though.

Re: Football has lost the plot
Little doubt the money from sky is obscene, and the money in the game has many unlikable things about it but I can't stand all this anti sky stuff. They launched the premier league at a time when attendances were low, interest was low, and football in general was viewed as a scummy game by the free to air bods because of the nature of it's support.

Ditto test match cricket. BBC had it, decided they didn't want it anymore when England were shit, and then as soon as England got good again cried about having it back.

Believe it was actually that treacherous cunt Blair who removed tests from the protected list

Tough titties. You had it, you fucked it off, don't start claiming it back because someone else has built it into something that more people want to watch.
