Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
I know a few on here were looking for an article that told the story of a Birmingham fan's experience, found this on the Real West Ham fans action group:-

"Blues fan here, omg cant believe you will have them two chancers, barrowboys, muppets, twats,in charge of you lot soon god help yous...welcome to the world of very very average players being signed from the fizzy pop leagues, sully loves a gamble on some mickey mouse no mark player that he thinks hes going to sell for £20 million in a few years, all i can is before every transfer window he will promise you the world and deliver you jackshite, the man is a cock of the highest order and you are about to find that out in the next year.k.r.o"

"blues fan here chaps....had a right laugh at this,if yous lot think dux is bad with the spin, just wait till sully start coming out with the *** he will defo surpass duxbury, now i dont want to burst your bubbble this morning but in 2/3 years time you will defo be doing this"

Good luck chaps......but sully as got to be the biggest "tw@t" in great britian.....sully will run that club from top to bottom as gold is just his bitch....they found a great formula at blues for making money out of yo yoing.......im just waiting now for sully to say you have got 20 deals on the go before the window shuts, and really you will end up with jackshite, then before you know it upson will have been sold for £10 million in this window or the next.....i know you dont want to believe this, this morning, but sully is a 24 caret tw@t.....end of rant.....

"To find out what approach Sullivan, Gold and Brady will take towards West Ham just look back in the archives for their time at Birmingham - the initial comments already create an overwhelming sense of deja vu... Firstly, tell the fans an amount that you are in debt (their figures, not necessarily substantiated)- the fear created justifies the inevitable increase in ticket prices in the summer (Birmingham were more expensive to watch than Man Utd)
Secondly, blame high wages for the club's problems, but then make out that you will spend a huge sum of money on a 'star' player's wages (conveniently unnamed) - there was never any realistic chance that the player would sign, but gives the supporters the false impression that these guys are prepared to back big transfers
Thirdly, avoid spending any money on facilities by trying to move the club to a new ground that someone else has paid for - ie the 2012 Olympic Stadium - witness the failed campaign aimed at getting the City Council to pay for a new stadium in Birmingham which the club would move to but not contribute towards

Is it coincidence that Birmingham's fortunes have turned up since the point when this group departed? The increased harmony at the club is reflected on the pitch and the reduction in pressure from the Board has allowed the manager to make his own decisions, most of which now seem to be delivering results, and actually look like he is enjoying himself!

Birmingham's fans, like those of any club, can certainly be accused of periods of unrealistic expectation - but then as he has already done at West Ham it was Sullivan himself that made comments about Champions League qualification, not the supporters...

Ungrateful? On occasions for sure, but being regularly reminded for 15 years of how our club was 'saved' eventually wears a little thin... and if the chauffeured Rolls Royce journey caused Sullivan 'fatigue', then don't be shocked that a working class fan base doesn't show you the adoration you crave...keep right on..and up the blues...."

David Sullivan and David Gold facing backlash from angry West Ham fans over transfers

West Ham United co-owners David Sullivan and David Gold face a revolt from fans if they oversee another transfer window failure.

West Ham have turned a corner under David Moyes but know they are still very much in the relegation mix in an increasingly congested Premier League.

The Hammers squad has been devastated by a glut of injuries to key players of late just as they embark on the most crucial run of fixtures in their season.

Marko Arnautovic, Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll are all out medium to long-term joining the likes of Michail Antonio, Winston Reid, Diafra Sakho, Andre Ayew and Edimilson Fernandes on the sidelines.

Moyes has made no secret of his desire to bring in new players during the January transfer window and that need has now become acute if the East Londoners want to give themselves every change of staying up.

The Hammers have been linked with more than 40 players this month alone, much to the bemusement of an unimpressed Moyes who already looks exasperated with the situation and remarked earlier this month 'I'm beginning to find out a bit about West Ham'.

West Ham fans and pundits like Jamie Carragher have been critical of the club's owners David Sullivan and David Gold in the past for the very public way they do business.

The owners have maintained a much lower profile this time around but supporters are far from happy.

Fan groups have been set up to campaign for a change of ownership after what they feel have been broken promises from Sullivan, Gold and vice-chairman Karren Brady over transfers, spending, ambition and the controversial move to the former Olympic Stadium.

There is a groundswell of apathy from the Hammers faithful who were promised big things as a carrot to leave their beloved Upton Park.

Many are threatening not to renew season tickets next term unless there are changes or the club makes good on its pledges to compete for top players in the transfer market.

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
This post would be interesting if

a) West Ham wasn't in debt when it was bought and G,S and B were lying

b) the ticket prices at West Ham had increased more than at other clubs, particularly in London (and no, gouging corporate hospitality for every penny you can doesn't count)

c) if moving to a ground paid for by someone else at a knock-down rent isn't a good idea

d) the poster could hide the fact that he really doesn't like cockneys.

e) if West Ham were a no mark, two-bob, never have been anything, never will be anything , shit club in Villa

OK One McCavennieeeeeee. I'm sure your bruised ego needs to prove something about me after the last verbal bashing I gave you.

However, I had in mind that we finished 17th in the money table and wrote that down instead of the 11th place finish I meant to write. Sometimes it really is that simple. Big fucking deal!

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
Incorrect. You thought we finished 17th, which is why you typed 17th. It fits in with the rest of the nonsense on that post.

17th? You clueless old fucking cunt. You wonder why people don't take you seriously?

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
what is interesting is the growth of WH's revenues. In 2013 it was €106m; in 2014 it was €139m; in 2015 it was €161m; in 2016 it was €192m and last year €213m. And during that period the value of the pound sterling massively dropped in value otherwise the revenue would be much higher.

What have G&S done to increase that revenue (income)? After finishing 17th last season and struggling this season - very fucking little. And worse still their strategies have relegated or nearly relegated us most seasons of their tenure. They are awful, incompetent owners boosted by growing TV revenues.

But they are our wankers and who's to say that we won't get worse when they finally bow out? Perhaps their kids will go on to run us efficiently or not but I really wouldn't hold your breath on that one...

The trouble with our owners is that they are in the wrong division. They are a second or at most have a first division mindset. They are well out of their league. They say they are supporters of this club of ours, if it was true they should be ashamed of themselves. You don't lie and mislead your mates in life. Everything they have done is to line their own pockets. If they really wanted to run a football team they should have stuck to their local pub side.

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
Trouble is I don't actually think that it is a deliberate attempt to deceive fans. I think they mean well when they promise the earth. Then they discover the true cost of their promises and so draw back from delivering.

Take the Bilic situation. Most clubs' owners would have realised that Bilic was making terrible errors of judgement and deserved to be sacked last summer.

Yet Bilic was popular with fans and would cost a few million pounds to get of his team so he made a bad decision to keep him on. Sullivan tells the story now that even his sons appealed to him to get a new manager in but his reluctance to spend money got the better of his judgement.

Same as when we spent little last summer (good for Sullivan's mindset) and then had to sign Fonte and Snodgrass for a rip-off £18m when we were at risk of relegation!

That is a bad mindset for an owner and is the main reason WH is held back by its owners...

I see the promised big name signing bullshit isn't merely reserved for us then.

BUT THEY SAVED OUR CLUB!

AND THE INTEREST ON THEIR LOAN TO THE CLUB IS NOW ONLY 3.5% - NO LONGER 7%!

THEY'RE JUST CUSTODIANS OF OUR CLUB AND MASSIVE SUPPORTERS!

THEY'RE NOT IN IT FOR THE MONEY!

A CLUB GENERATING ONE OF THE HIGHEST REVENUES IN WORLD FOOTBALL MAKE NO FINANCIAL SENSE!

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
I'm not really much of a G&S fan but Birmingham fans were obviously deluded enough to think that they were a natural Premier League side when really they're a natural Championship side.

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
Let's be honest though that "blues fan" got Sullivan described spot on accurately. More's the pity as we all want to believe the lying bastard will actually spend big one day to take us to that promised land...

I'm not too bothered by it though. As others have pointed out Birmingham hardly improved for more than 5 minutes when the Asian crook G&S sold out to got tried in his own country for all sorts of financial crimes iirc. But when offered a £75m profit who wouldn't have taken it even if it in his shoes?

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
Just been on C&H and pointed out that the board's lack of financial interest may limit Moyes' ambition and got the back end of Hugh's board supporting line.
I do not trust them and their promises have largely proven to be hollow about next level and so on.
Don't think anything about Birmingham after they left has any relevance. In our case, the question is when will 'after' be? Long term? Or sell up as soon as they don't have to pay anything over?

neilalex 12:02 Sat Jan 20
Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
Yes I'm simply saying that how they are doing isn't really anything to do with what G&S are like and what they told us. There are worse owners out there clearly - those Venky? people who have fucked Blackburn for example, and Birmingham may be unlucky enough to have got someone worse. Not that I'd be concerned because their fans are generally horrible cunts and I hope they go down.

Re: Sullivan, Gold and Brady - The view from a Birmingham fan 2009
Well, this line seems relevant and not very prescient at all - "Is it coincidence that Birmingham's fortunes have turned up since the point when this group departed?"

They are spot on about the rest though.
