Looks like Ayew out too now.

No bad thing considering he's absolute pone.

Be nice to see Hernandez and Martinez up front as a pair.

Rice, Burke and Ogbonna at the back isn't the end of the world.

Noble/Cullen, Kouyate, Obiang down the middle.

Wont even be a shock if we lose this, they're absolutely flying.

Just don't lose by 2 or 3.... or even 4...

I would guess that Oxford still being here means he will get another look.

I watched the U21 in the Checkatrade trophy @ Wycombe - never looked like scoring and were too lightweight. When you play against harden pros, if you are young you have to pass and move quickly and move the ball with purpose rather than passing for passing sake.

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
Think Martinez looks very lightweight personally and I don't think Cullen will ever make it at the highest level, though hopefully I'm wrong.

Biggest issue is that half of them end up getting played out of position which does neither the team or them any favours.

Im on the hornchurch coach Grump son

Burke, Martinez, Cullen all played at this level last season and a higher one this for Reece and Josh. They are capable of playing in our team against league 1 opposition. Both have performed well since they came back. Its the ones around them that need to buck their ideas up.

Rice obv good enough too

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
Our U21s aren't that good at all. If he plays six or seven of them then we'll get turned over, simple as that.

Then fair enough....

I just think adding in some youngsters that are good enough and protecting some of the first XI with Palace 3 days later is the best approach.

Think the game will come down to if the 'first teamers' that start actually play well for once (Ayew, Kouyate, Chicarito) the kids have generally done alright for us this season

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
try and win every game. this picking weak teams shit to concentrate on securing 17th place can fuck off, as can the dwarf owner cunt

Grumpster 11:02 Thu Jan 25
Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
Think people rate our kids higher than they actually are.

Same kids who struggled against Shrewsbury who aren't anywhere near as good as Wigan.

Also guessing people who want the kids played aren't the ones shelling out a load of wedge actually going to the game.

'Pearce urges Hammers youngsters to take FA Cup chance

Stuart Pearce has urged West Ham United players to take their chance to impress in Saturday’s Emirates FA Cup fourth-round tie at Wigan Athletic.

Injuries to first-team regulars mean a number of fringe players and promising youngsters will likely be handed opportunities to start at the DW Stadium.'

Says it all.

you play your strongest team end of.
You wont win fuck all if you dont play your strongest team.

Lets have some passion for the FA cup. its the last thing we won.

"The kids can beat them its down to them if they play well or not."

I wonder if that's what Bournemouth thought?

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
So we should worry about players getting injured over winning games?

Maybe we should stop the first 11 from training seeing as that's where the majority of our injuries come from???

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
How about if they get injured against Palace, Rossal?

Rossal 10:51 Thu Jan 25
Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
Well if another 2 or 3 get injured sat then we are putting out a reserve side in two huge 6 pointers against Palace and Brighton

Why take the risk? The kids can beat them its down to them if they play well or not.

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
To be fair, throwing the cup game against Arsenal worked out really well when we had the MASSIVE game against Newcastle a few days after.

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
Exactly, these are professional athletes who have the best after care and attention.

People act as if they're office workers playing 2 games in 4 days!

Trevor B 10:42 Thu Jan 25
Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
I wouldn't play a weakened team, these are professional footballers and should be able to perform well with a few days in between games. Everyone thought we would run amok playing WBA the other week when we had several days more rest than they did, but we were lucky to win and they outran us in the game.

We have decent momentum at the moment and need to keep that going, getting turned over by Wigan will not aid us.

Re: WHU Team Vs Wigan Athletic?
